Alive Yachting

Alive Yachting Alive is a 66 foot canting keel Reichel Pugh racing yacht. She is currently racing out of Brisbane. At 66 foot Alive fits into the ‘mini-maxi’ size category.

She is currently racing out of Brisbane and registered with the Derwent Sailing Squadron, Tasmania. Purchased at the beginning of 2014 by Tasmanian businessman, Phillip Turner, Alive and our fresh crew plan to sail the northern circuit as well as the Melbourne to Vanuatu and finish off with the 2014 Sydney Hobart. Alive is skippered by fellow Tasmanian, Duncan Hine, running a mostly non-profession

al crew of Brisbane and Tasmanian sailors. However, her narrow and light hull combined with powerful new Southern Spars rig makes her a technically advanced and challenging boat. The 2014 sailing season will be spent building a crew with the skills and dedication required to sail this boat safely and competently.
2014 will be a busy year for our new team. We have 8 races packed into 9 months, starting with the Southport Regatta in March and Culminating with the Sydney to Hobart at the end of the year.

It’s been a while but today we’re back out of the water at The Yard Brisbane . This is the completion of our Asia Circuit. With line honours in all events, outright in both the Melbourne to Oska also Hong Kong to Vietnam, andanother Rolex in the Rolex China Sea. It’s been a great adventure for this awesome boat. Thanks Phillip Turner for making this this happen!

Still doing the hurdles, always carry enough fuel filters with you. This is our last and I hope it gets us in. We had at least 15 at the start of the Asian campaign. We treat our fuel with biocide which if you are planning to buy fuel from more remote locations you should carry heaps. We only have another 100 miles and we will be in Moreton Bay.

We can’t see land yet but you can feel the anticipation!
