Stables has provided more than 30 000 rides to appreciative global visitors – averaging 6000 rides
annually. Many tourists, visitors and celebrities have enjoyed riding at the Perdana Stables. The horses at The
Perdana Stables are also a popular choice for weddings and religious ceremonies, and a number of them
have been featured in commercials and even in a blockbuster Bangladeshi and Bollywood movie. To
further extend its outreach, it has established a website presence since 2009 which enjoys 10 000 hits
monthly and continues to engage the interest of the riding community and travellers internationally. At
the same time, The Perdana Stables has become a place of interest even for tourists and visitors who do
not ride, but visit to admire and learn more about its well-groomed and magnificent horses. Its stallion is among the finest in Asia, with one majestic Arabian stallion named Al-Bariq which is owned
by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia YABhgTunDr Mahathir Mohamad. Al-Bariq was born in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the famous King Abdul Aziz Arabian Horse Centre in Dirab and was grand-
sired by the legendary Makhsous. There are also world-class Australian stallions imported from the Reid River and Bremervale Arabian
stud farms which have achieved tremendous success at halter in Australia as well as in the field of
endurance. While horses from Argentina called Criollos are used for general riding activities. The
Perdana Stables also housed a high-callibre, well trained FEI REGISTERED PUREBRED Arabians for
international and local CEI 1*, 2* and 3*endurance events. In 2009, Island Horses SdnBhd made a registration with the AHSA (The Arabian Horse Society of
Australia) as Arabian horse breeders-under the trade name of Seven Wells Arabian Studs Farm (SW). The
presence of the stunning Al-Bariq has enabled the Seven Wells Arabian Stud Farm to pioneer the world’s
purebred MALAYSIAN-ARABIANSwith Langkawi and Malaysia thereby achieving its inaugural entry into
the global horse breeding fraternity. This breed of Arabian horses is now fully recognized by AHSA,
WAHO (World Arabian Horses Organization – Saudi Arabia) and Scottsdale America as some of the finest
and purest Arabian Horses. To date, Seven Wells Arabian Studs Farm has produced 4 MALAYSIAN-
ARABIANSpurebreds’ foals of world class quality, born in Langkawi which are healthy, strong and shows
immerse potential. These Langkawi born horses are registered and accredited with DNA certification. Within a short time frame, the Seven Wells Arabian Studs Farm (SW) has come to be recognized on an
international level as a breeder of horses with correct and outstanding conformations, superb heart
rates with rapid recovery.
