We are from SMK Seksyen 19, and we are also from (wakil Negeri Selangor) 😎😎

It's not easy to secure a place in a National Competition. Lots of obstacles throughout this journey. A lot of effort has been made. Need to squeeze in some time despite I already have tons of school stuffs, lesson plans, paper works, students' exam paper and DPLI assignments. (can't merajuk too much, I sendiri chose this path 🙈🙈😝😝)

I somehow macam #中毒太深 and even enjoy and addicted to being tired and exhausted (someone please rescue me 😵😵) I promise myself to rest well after this. 🙏🙏😅😅

Anyway, please pray for our team in tomorrow and Tuesday punya video digital STEM competition in Terengganu ya. We will do our best! Haha! Thank you 😍😍

If a teacher talks too much, the class would be very boring and students won't learn much as well. So, in my Science class, I tried something new by asking students to combine all the scientific terms they've learned for a small topic and merged them with and (choral speaking in BM), in order to let them to learn while having fun, Haha!

Although it wasn't perfect and there were lots of mistakes (many students felt shy by hiding their faces here and there), but I feel so proud of their performance and their willingness to try, especially they were given less than 1 hour to prepare all this 😍😍

It was undoubtedly a great experience for me to expose to Dikir Barat and Bicara Berirama, more to come in future I believe 😊😊 Thank you so much Cikgu Noor Fashah Amira for inspiring me to do these 😁😁

Terjumpa keempat-empat gambar ini apabila saya buka photo gallery saya pagi tadi, tapi rasa pelik kerana saya tak pernah tangkap gambar sebegini pun.

Rupanya gambar-gambar ini dihantar oleh seorang guru RBT di sekolah saya ke dalam kumpulan Whatsapp, katanya dia telah menunjukkan video yang saya buat kepada pelajar-pelajar dia.

Secara berterus terang, saya membuat video ini kerana disuruh oleh pensyarah saya untuk penghantaran tugasan (assignment). Saya tak sangka pun video ini akan digunakan sebagai salah satu bahan pengajaran oleh guru lain, lagipun dia seorang guru yang berpengalaman.

THANK YOU SO MUCH 😢😢😍😍 Terharunya apabila saya dapat merasa usaha saya telah diiktiraf oleh guru-guru senior. Ini telah memberikan satu motivasi dan semangat yang cukup besar kepada saya bagi meneruskan perjuangan saya untuk mendidik anak-anak murid saya. Walaupun busy betul kehidupan saya sekarang ini, tapi saya memang enjoy apa yang saya buat. 😉😉😊😊

Two years ago on this day (15th August 2016), it was my first day as an engineer. I'd never imagined that I would be a teacher in government school today. Thank you Teach For Malaysia for making this a reality.

[Hari Bicara Prestasi dengan Ibu Bapa]

Hari ini merupakan hari yang boleh dikatakan amat istimewa bagi saya kerana ini dikira kali pertama saya kena membentangkan keputusan dan tingkah laku murid-murid saya kepada ibu-bapa mereka. Sebelum itu, saya berasa agak bimbang tetapi nasib baik pada akhirnya program ini telah dijalankan dengan lancar sekali. Saya boleh kata saya enjoy saat-saat saya berbual dengan ibu bapa untuk membincangkan cara-cara meningkatkan prestasi anak kesayangan mereka. Saya berharap melalui program ini, ibu bapa sekalian dapat berusaha dengan guru-guru di sekolah untuk membina anak-anak didik kita sebagai insan yang cemerlang 😍😍😍

有时候只要真心付出，宗教，种族和文化根本就区分不了什么。

**** 不过语言还是很重要很重要！！！（看来我要恶补我的国语了）😂😂😂

Today is the first day of school after raya + cuti pertengahan tahun (Selamat kembali ke sekolah #新学期快乐 to all my colleagues, TFM comrades and of course, my beloved students 😍😍)

Since today is a day to be remembered, I would like to share an interesting story (for me la) which happened at school today.

I was busying marking my students' exam papers during the Raya break and I found out that one of my form 1 front class students did pretty bad in my Science subject. (Masa tu aku memang serabut dan air mataku dah hampir meleleh). I was thinking : I put in a lot of effort for them...... Making education videos, creating own notes and worksheets, doing ppt slides and etc...... And should this be what I get? 😢😢

However, when I finally accepted their results, I started to worry about how they would they feel when they receive their results. Since then, I started to construct my words in my mind, how to use a proper language to educate them without hurting their feelings. Day in day out, and finally buka sekolah and sampailah masa for me to meet them.

When I entered the class, looking on those innocent faces, I suddenly acted spontaneously. I did something that even myself felt surprised.

After beri salam, I told my students...

Me : Pelajar-pelajar sekalian, marilah kita memulakan kelas kita dengan bacaan doa.

(Of course, students stunned there and didn't know what to do)... Then I looked at the monitor in front of me and whisper to him : "tunjukkan kepimpinan awak" (note: he is a very cute little boy who always wish to grow taller soon and tumbuh misai soon 😂😂). Then...

Monitor : al-Fatihah (and lead the whole praying session)

*** oh ya, I prayed for them as well... With Buddhism way 🙏🙏🙏

After the praying session...

Me : Tahu tak kenapa hari ni saya special sikit dan suruh kamu semua untuk baca doa?

Students : (All kind of guessing)

Then I took out their exam papers from my beg and asked again.

Me : Sekarang dah tahu ke belum?

That time, students' reaction = 😱😱🙈🙈😱😱🙈🙈😱😱🙈🙈

Then, I started to distribute their #满江红 papers.

What I've learnt today:
Believe in God. You and me (we) may not believe in the same God, but the strength is there we pray.

Beranilah menerima kegagalan kerana kegagalan mengajar seseorang untuk lebih berusaha supaya mencapai kejayaan. Remember, God helps people who work hard. #加油 💪💪💪💓💓💓

#当了一天的明星

今天以这身打扮走入校园，顿时成为全场瞩目的焦点。

For your information, 我是我校唯一一名华裔老师，而在我执教的下午班里，就连一名华裔学生也没有。（这跟去年我在坤中简直就是天渊之别）当你是唯一的时候，你的言行举止，甚至是一举一动将定格人家怎么看待你的族群。例：如果黄老师的性格是很搞笑的话，那么大家都会觉得原来华人都这么搞笑的，因为除了黄老师，他们的圈子里也没有任何的华人了。所以，我多多少少也肩负着很重大的使命，因为我要证明给大家看，在马来西亚这多远种族的国家，其实各族之间要和睦共处，根本就不难 💖💖

所以今天我选择了穿上 Baju Melayu 去上班。一踏入办公室，可以说是全体老师起立为我喝彩欢呼，然后纷纷转行当裁缝师，帮我把 Baju Melayu 修得更整齐。当我走入礼堂接近学生群时，甚至引起了一些小轰动（有点夸张的说），而最常听见的三句话如下：

"Cikgu Ooi, hari ini banyak hensem lahh !"
"Cikgu Ooi, sambut raya awal ke?"
"Cikgu Ooi, mana duit raya?"

刚刚放学后回家反思了一下，便有感而发地写了这个 po 文。刚开始进入这间学校的时候还真的是战战兢兢的呀，因为文化差异太大，语言上有有些不通顺（虽然至今我马来文还是 cacat 😂😂），不过现在想回，其实我就是注定得去一趟这样子的学校，因为 #我不一样。

是的， #我和你不一样，但我还是一样的爱你们。

是的， #我和你不一样，但我还是可以为了你们，半夜不睡觉地去为你们的下一堂课做了充分准备。

是的， #我和你不一样，但我可以学习你们的文化，听你们爱听的音乐 🎶

是的， #我和你不一样，但你们的笑容其实足以溶化我的心 ♥

最后我想说，我有我自己的信仰，但我同时我尊重你们的信仰；我有我自己的文化，但我也会去了解你们的文化。互相尊重，互相包容，互相理解是我们大家应该学习的。我真心希望我能够成为我学生们的典范，那么将来社会的种族主义者和极端分子就会越来越少 😊😊

「此文有点长 ‖ 突然有感而发」

前两天我妈告诉我，别对今年的教师节有着太大的期望，只要带着一颗好心情去学校享受一个属于你的节日就好，毕竟国中和独中生家庭里的经济方面有着一定的差别，而文化上一般来说国中也没有送礼物给老师的习惯（不懂啦，记忆中的我是不曾送给老师任何礼物的 😯😯）

就在昨天，我好意外地收到了蛮多礼物。收到礼物的当儿，感动之余我还是感到少许的内疚，因为有些同学我其实都不太认识，我也不清楚他们是否因为花钱买礼物给老师而挨饿了好几餐，更离谱的是我根本不清楚学生们是否听明白我讲课（过不久的大考成绩出了我就会知道了 🙈🙈）。

其实去了国中，我的挑战和压力算是蛮大的。第一，我面对了语言上的隔阂。好多时候我在班上讲笑话的时候，我会身处在一种冷场的状况，只因那个笑话只有我一个人觉得好笑，而且好多时候我在解释一些东西/慰问同学的状况甚至是闲聊，我会因为找不到适合的马来文字而无法让对方 100% 明白我想表达的话语。第二，我有一些学生其实面对着学习的障碍，只因他们的基础不够扎实。当我在班上问他们 7x3 等于多少，而大部分的同学很努力的去回答但却讲不出 21 这个答案的时候（当时全班没有一个同学回答得出 21，他们已经初一了），我其实觉得很心酸 😢😢

不过，我始终相信，爱是能够被传染的，而爱也能够跨越了所有言语，宗教和文化上的分歧。所以在我的每一堂课里，我会花上了 120% 的精力去准备，因为我对于自己在课堂上的表现要求还算蛮高的，所以我希望学生们上我的课，他们是有收获的，他们是开心的，就仅如此。所以，收到这些礼物虽然不能意味着什么，不过这也算是学生们的一番心意，对我而言也是极大的推动力（真心的），谢谢谢谢 😍😍

「转移话题一下」就在这几天，我收到了好几位我去年在坤中执教的学生在脸书上或 instagram 的私信。他们都不约而同地告诉我，他们在他们的物理大考中荣获佳绩。一来，我为他们在学业上的成就感到骄傲。此外，我也因他们愿意和我分享他们的喜悦感到开心 😊😊
