B&J is a PADI 5 Star IDC Centre as well as a DSAT/ITDA/IANTD Technical Diving Training facility providing all courses from beginner to instructor level. Dive trips to the fantastic dive sites around Tioman are organized daily. The marine environment plays an important role for us and as such we are 100% Project AWARE which simply means that we pledge a donation to protect our oceans for every single student we certify. For the past few days, we have the pleasure to host a group of ocean lovers and educating them on the importance of Crown of Thorns management.

From workshops, equipment familiarization, scuba skills to actual conservation dives, we are doing our part as scuba divers protecting coral reefs here at Tioman Island.

We are extremely proud to have a fellow Malaysian Diver being inducted into the Scuba Diving Hall of Fame this year. His contributions to the industry are life changing to many who have the pleasure of meeting him.

Abang Syed Abdul Rahman is the founder of Kids Scuba and also a prominent figure in the DiveHeart community. His work with children and the special needs community made him a rightful legend.

One Crown at A Time!

Crown of thorns starfish are natural inhabitants of coral reefs, but when their populations reach outbreak levels, they can consume large amounts of living coral.

One method used by our trained COT control divers to control outbreaks is vinegar injection, which kills individual COTS while minimizing disturbance to the surrounding reef.

Controlling their population isn’t about removing every COTS. It’s about restoring balance and giving our coral reefs a better chance to recover.

Protect the reef. Protect the future.

Popular Renggis Island!

As one of the popular dive sites at Tioman, Renggis Island is very accessible to divers of all levels. It is known as the best place to spot blacktip sharks.

More than that, Renggis shallow coral reefs are also a prime area for hawksbill turtles. Just like the sharks, it’s almost a guarantee to find them during your dives there.

Be sure to hop onto the boat when there is a schedule for Renggis Island. You will not be disappointed being able to dive with among the famous underwater residents of Tioman!
