Maria School of Dancing is founded by our principal, Madam Maria Hon since 1982; it was the first ballet school in Kepong area. Being in this industry for almost 40 years, we have trained and cultivated many students, dancers and teachers. As a performing dance art school, we aim to cultivate students’ technical capabilities in classical ballet while nurturing their artistic growth as dancers. The
Vaganova method is a professional ballet training system and promotes ballet as a theatre art form. The training system is designed to involve the whole body in every movement, with equal attention paid to the upper body, legs and feet; this approach increases consciousness of the body, thus creating a harmony of movement and greater expressive range. Further, we strive to strengthen pupils’ whole-person development by the education of moral standards and ethical values alongside professional ballet training. This is accomplished by a carefully constructed combination of routine classroom learning of dance, music, history and art, on top of community outreach activities, performances and competitions. We offer both Vaganova & RAD trainings and exams, both are world renowned and recognized.
