A high roundhouse kick is a martial arts strike where the practitioner targets the opponent's head or neck, typically resulting in knockouts.  It differs from standard roundhouse kicks by requiring the kicker to chamber the knee significantly higher, utilizing hip abductors and hamstrings to generate the necessary force and flexibility.
