Edan Syah is the Youngest and Fastest Malaysian to finish the 119thBoston Marathon 2015 (held on 20thApril 2015) with a time of 2:41:55! He ranked in the top 1.33% of the field size of 26,610 marathoners from around the world who qualified for this race according to their age groups. In July 2015 at the Gold Coast Airport Marathon (GCAM 2015), he broke his Half Marathon (21.1km) time by 6 minutes

from 1:21:38 achieved in 2012, to a new Personal Best time of 1:15:09. In 2016, Edan broke his old Full Marathon Personal Best time of 2:41 to achieve a new record time of 2:38 in the Tokyo Marathon 2016! He represented Malaysia as a Semi-Elite Athlete in Tokyo Marathon 2016 and he was ranked at 264 over a field size of 37,000 runners (top 0.7%), to be the Fastest Malaysian to finish the race. Again in July 2016, he achieved yet another PB of 2:35:05 in Gold Coast Marathon! He is now the 2016 Lead Marathoner in Malaysia with the fastest time achieved in the Full Marathon distance of 42.195km. Edan Syah is well known in the running community as the “Citizen Runner’; not a professional athlete, who needs to work full time but have to juggle his time between work, training and recovery from training. He has inspired many people through his running journey and he challenges himself to DareToDream to achieve the impossible as an independent athlete and excel in his running performance globally. He discovered his running potential 5 years ago when he won the 10km event in the Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur 2011. Since his debut Full Marathon in Standard Chartered Singapore 2011, he has improved tremendously by saving close to 30 minutes from his debut time of 3:07 to 2:38 in Tokyo Marathon 2016! He is now the 2nd Fastest Malaysian in 2017 with a Personal Best of 02:30.53 achieved at the Gold Coast Airport Marathon 2017.

#3 Fastest Marathon in a School Uniform (Male) Record: 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 12 seconds. Event: 2025 Sydney Marathon (August 31, 2025).Details: He ran in a full, custom-made school prefect uniform with a blazer and tie to raise awareness against bullying with the campaign “Stop Bullying, Start Running”.
