𝐈𝐂𝐒 2026 brought together people from different professions, sectors and experiences; each with their own perspectives, questions and hopes for the future.

We talked about coaching.
We talked about leadership.
We explored AI, disruption, transformation and the changing world of work.

The world is changing faster than ever. AI is reshaping work. Organisations are navigating unprecedented complexity. People are being asked to adapt, lead and learn in new ways.

But ultimately, so many of those conversations came back to one thing:

𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞.

How we develop them.
How we lead them.
How we connect with one another.
And how we create the conditions for human potential to flourish.

The future will ask more of coaches, leaders and organisations.

It will ask us to keep learning. Keep evolving. Keep questioning. Keep connecting.

𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬, 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝

Looking back from to , we’ve been reflecting on what has changed—not simply in the Summit itself, but in the conversation around coaching.

Progress is not always about bigger numbers. Sometimes, it is about who is now part of the conversation, which perspectives are at the table, and what new possibilities emerge.

Three shifts stood out.

1. FROM LOCAL TO MORE GLOBAL
At ICS 2026, we welcomed more international delegates, with voices from Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, Jordan, India, Australia, Canada and the United States.

This matters because coaching does not happen in isolation. Leaders and organisations operate within different cultures, economies, systems and professional realities. What works in one context may need to be reconsidered in another.

More international perspectives in the room create opportunities to listen differently, challenge our assumptions and learn from experiences beyond our own.

A broader coaching conversation requires us to look beyond our own context.

2. FROM A COACHING COMMUNITY TO A CROSS-SECTOR CONVERSATION
ICS 2026 brought together participants from business, education, government and public sector, NGOs and the wider social impact community.

The professional mix included leaders, coaches, HR practitioners, educators, technologists, entrepreneurs, researchers and academics.

This matters because challenges such as AI, workforce transformation, resilience and organisational change are shared across sectors.

Different perspectives help us see coaching as professional practice, leadership capability and potentially a contributor to organisational and societal change.

The more perspectives we bring, the more we can learn from one another.

3. FROM PROFESSIONAL INTEREST TO STRONGER CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP
Another meaningful shift was stronger support and partnership from the corporate community, for the first time at this level.

We see this not simply as sponsorship, but as dialogue.

Closer engagement helps the coaching profession understand the realities organisations face—and where coaching can genuinely contribute.

It also challenges us to keep evolving: relevant, evidence-informed, professional and responsive.

Partnership gives us an opportunity to listen as much as to contribute.

So, what do these shifts tell us?

Perhaps simply this: the conversation around coaching is expanding.

Across borders.
Across sectors.
Across organisations.

With that comes an opportunity, and responsibility, to keep learning, listening and evolving.

From to , we see signs of that progress.

We don’t see this as a destination, but as a continuing journey.

Following , we invited our delegates to tell us about their experience — not only how they rated the Summit, but importantly, what shifted for them through the experience.

We are grateful for what you told us.

An 𝐍𝐏𝐒 𝐨𝐟 53.3, an 𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 8.84/10, and 96% 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 7 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞 give us one view of the overall experience.

We also wanted to understand whether delegates experienced a shift across the learning outcomes we set out to explore:
1. 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥–𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 – integrating global trends with local cultural context
2. 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧-𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 – strengthening emotional intelligence and cultural agility
3. 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 & 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 – building confidence and fluency with AI and emerging tools
4. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐬 – navigating rapid change and uncertainty with skill
5. 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 – connecting coaching to systemic and societal change
6. 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 – expanding cross-sector partnership and interdisciplinary understanding

Encouragingly, post-Summit confidence increased across all six learning outcomes.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 3.37 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 4.29 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 0.92.

We share these numbers not as a finish line, but as feedback that helps us understand what resonated, where learning took place, and where there is more work to do.

Over the past three years, we at the Malaysia Chapter of ICF (MICF) have had the privilege of witnessing 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤’𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞.

From our initial collaboration during International Coaching Week in 2024 to our continued partnership at the International Coaching Summit 2026, that commitment has only grown stronger.
