The trophy went on a shelf. The work continued. The next morning still demanded the same thing every morning demands. Show up and be useful.

Awards are a snapshot of one moment, judged by other people. Useful is a habit, judged by results.

I am proud of the recognition. But not one client has ever hired me because of a 2018 trophy. They hire me because of what I shipped last week, in public, where they could see it.

Four days until I climb Mount Kinabalu.

The training is done. There is nothing left to add now. No last-minute session that changes the outcome.

This is the strange, quiet part. The work is behind me. All that remains is to show up and do the thing I prepared for.

It mirrors how good business feels. By the time the big moment arrives, the deal, the pitch, the launch, the outcome was mostly decided by the months of unseen reps before it.

The most sceptical person in the room is usually the one who matters most.

Last month a senior manager told me, before we started, that she did not believe AI could help with her actual work. Too generic. Too gimmicky. She had tried it.

By 3pm she had built an assistant that drafted her board updates and restructured a report she dreaded every month.

She was not won over by a demo. She was won over by building something useful with her own hands, on her own work.

A campaign video that quoted at RM40,000 from an agency. Produced for a fraction of that. From a laptop.

Same brief. Same brand standard. Same polish a client would expect from a production house.

The agency price was not wrong for the old model. Crew, studio, equipment, and weeks of editing cost money.

The model changed. AI tools now handle what used to need a full team, and the savings are not small.

I am not against agencies. For some productions they are still the right call. But for a large share of corporate video, the maths no longer holds.

The companies that notice this first will produce more, for less, faster.

Generic AI gives generic answers. That is why most teams quietly stop using it.

Ask a stock chatbot to write your sales email and you get something that could belong to any company in any industry. Bland. Off-brand. Useless without heavy editing.
