In a display of tactical brilliance, Sophie—seeded 5/8—fought her way through a world-class field, defeating the No.1 seed in the semi-finals and the No.2 seed in the final to claim the championship title. 🏆

🏆 Squash Excellence at the HK Junior Squash Cup 2026!

What an incredible week of squash! It was inspiring to watch our athletes take to the courts at the HK Junior Squash Cup 2026. From hard-fought rallies to new personal bests, our student athletes showcased their best with heart, grit, and amazing sportsmanship.

🌟 Huge Congratulations to
* Sophie Tang ‘29 (🥇 GU17 Champion): Sophie cruised to the title without dropping a single game, an amazing feat considering she was playing up in a higher age category.
* Rachael Tang ‘32 (🥇 GU13 Champion): Rachael secured her title in a thrilling, brutal 5-game final, overcoming a long-standing rival she had never beaten in tournament play before.
* Arjun Ramachandran ‘27 (🎖️ 5/8, BU19): Arjun displayed incredible maturity and tactical prowess, securing a hard-fought top-8 finish in the highly competitive BU19 division.
* Joshua Park ‘29 (🏅 9/16, BU17): Joshua showed great composure and impressive consistency throughout the tournament to secure a solid 9/16 finish.
* Nicholas Cho ‘31 (🎖️ 5/8, BU15): Nicholas proved he’s a force to be reckoned with, battling his way to an impressive top-8 placement in a stacked BU15 field.
* Brian Tang ‘31 (🏅 9/16, BU15): Brian showcased his athleticism and fighting spirit, navigating a tough draw to earn a well-deserved 9/16 result.
* TJ Kollar ‘31 (🏅 17/18, BU15): TJ demonstrated fantastic endurance and focus throughout the tournament, clinching a 17/18 finish in the BU15 category.

We are incredibly proud of our phenomenal student athletes, Sophie Tang ’29 and Rachael Tang ’32, for their outstanding performances at Li-Ning Cup - The 33rd Asia Junior Individual Championships 2026 in Panzhihua, China!

Representing HK, China to compete against top talent from across Asia, they brought their absolute best to the court:

Our boys had a powerful start on the 2nd day, clinching victory against SKHTSK and securing a spot in the semi-finals with determination 👍👍. Despite a hard-fought battle against ISF, we faced a tough loss in the semis.

The girls showcased their prowess in the third-round ribbon match against the second seed, HYS. Although dominating the first match with a 2-0 lead, the subsequent matches slipped from our grasp, resulting in a narrow 1-2 defeat in the final showdown.

Both the boys and girls teams are poised to compete for their respective third-place finishes next week against Lasalle and True Light, respectively. Let’s rally behind our teams with support and wish them the best of luck!

Huge congratulations to our squash players Sophie Tang ‘29 who emerged as the undefeated Champion in the GU15 category at the Kuala Lumpur Junior Open Championships 2025. Meanwhile, Nicholas Cho ‘31 secured a respectable 5th placing in the BU13 category.

KLJO is one of the most competitive squash tournaments in Asia, and this year it has made historical record of receiving more than 1000 entries.
