This recognition is more than an award — it is a reflection of a long and emotional journey that began over two decades ago at Bubbles Dive Resort.
For more than 20 years, the team has dedicated themselves to protecting sea turtles, educating guests, and weaving conservation into the very heart of the Bubbles experience. What started as a fully resort-funded initiative grew steadily through passion, care, and an unwavering belief in protecting marine life.
Then came 2020.
The Covid-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges. With tourism halted and resources stretched, the future of the conservation project suddenly became uncertain. It was a difficult and emotional period — one that tested the resilience of the team like never before. But instead of letting the mission fade, the community stepped forward. Support from the public helped keep the project alive, and the initiative transformed into a social enterprise.
From that turning point, something powerful emerged: a renewed sense of purpose, built on shared responsibility and collective hope. Today, the project is proudly self-run and self-funding, continuing its work with even greater determination and heart.
This award from Gamuda is a beautiful acknowledgement of that resilience — of a team that refused to give up, even in the hardest of times, and continues to make a lasting impact for sea turtles and marine conservation.
