Happy International Whale Shark Day! 🦈💙

Despite their enormous size, whale sharks are gentle filter feeders and the largest fish in the world. Each whale shark also has a unique pattern of spots, almost like a fingerprint!

This month, our team was incredibly lucky to spot this giant beauty at Tokong Laut dive site. 🌊 A reminder of just how special the waters around Perhentian can be.

Here’s to protecting these gentle giants and the oceans they call home. 💙

Since launching our Marine Biologist for the Day programme, we’ve welcomed everyone from couples and families to children and older guests into the Coral Discovery Centre to become scientists for the day! 🌊

Our favourite part? Seeing that curiosity and love for the ocean being shared from one generation to the next. 💙 And that handwritten note from one of our little scientists absolutely made our day. 🥹

Our Coral Propagation Workshop is a 1-hour, hands-on experience where you’ll learn about coral biology, fragmentation techniques, coral mounting methods and how we care for coral fragments.

RM200 per person | Open to all ages

Good news: you don't need a PhD or a science degree to join the fight to save our reefs! If you have ever wanted to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with ocean conservation, this is your sign!

Our available in-lab workshops:

1️⃣ Marine Biologist for a Day: RM300/pax (2 hours)
Includes: Reef Ecology Presentation, Reef Tank Systems, Water Sampling & Testing, and a Fun Quiz.

2️⃣ Coral Propagation Workshop: RM200/pax (1 hour)
Includes: Coral Biology Basics, Fragmentation Technique, Coral Mounting Method, and Care of Coral Fragments.

3️⃣ Coral Planting: RM100/pax (30 mins)
Includes: Fragmentation Technique and Coral Mounting Method.
