First athlete, first show, and definitely not the last. 🔥

has been lifting seriously for 2 years under the guidance of from , and somewhere along the way, the interest to step on a bodybuilding stage started growing.

We began working together for about 2–3 months during his off-season, then rolled straight into a 6-month prep from Feb 2025 to Aug 2025. Honestly, Soh is the kind of client every coach hopes for — he follows the plan to the dot. 👀

Sometimes I even wished he’d push back or give me more feedback, just so I know I wasn’t pushing him too hard. 😅🤣
I’m especially proud of how he managed everything outside the gym. Running his restaurant (Sabahan folks will know Wan Wan — the one with the crazy lines every day 😮‍💨), waking up earlier than most to prep food, and still sticking to his diet while serving up fish noodles and tom yum to others… that takes discipline.

As his coach, my main goal was to guide him through his first prep, making sure he experienced the grind but also came out of it healthy. What I didn’t expect was for him to bring home two medals — 5th place 🎖️ at First Timer and 3rd place 🥉 at 🤯. Of course, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were moments of doubt and stress, but he was willing to communicate and we worked through it together.

Super proud of how far he’s come, and this is just the beginning. Improvements are lined up, and next season, we’re aiming even higher. 🫡🔥

Not seeing the number move?

Not seeing a big difference in pictures?

Good. It means you’re focusing where it really matters: strength, recovery, habits, discipline. 💯

Lighting, angles, even your posture can make photos lie.

But your consistency never lies.

Keep showing up.

The real results are being built where no camera can see. 🔥

It’s still real protein tho—unlike the fake ones that claim ‘great taste & good macros’ but end up just being dust… or an overpriced Milo. IYKYK 👀💸

Same weight, but a completely different body composition in just 1 month! 👀 reached out to me for online coaching while he was in Singapore 🇸🇬. Working in the media industry is no easy job, especially during production shoots, where he often needs to carry heavy cameras.

For his training approach, we emphasized technique to ensure he performed the exercises with precision, targeting the specific areas we wanted to focus on. As his technique improved, so did his intensity week by week. 🏋🏻‍♂️

Now, I know his food intake may seem boring or even dull to some, but I call it real dedication. Nutrition is crucial for achieving the results you want, and we kept it simple for him by using pre-cooked chicken breast from his local convenience store, paired with sufficient carbs and fiber. 🍱

On special occasions, of course, it’s perfectly fine to go off-plan for 1 or 2 meals. There’s nothing wrong with that—it’s all about finding balance in your lifestyle. Lo and behold, the results still speak for themselves. 🎊

The gain train is definitely en route for Lawson, and I can’t wait to see even more progress in the future.

Cheers and keep going! 💪

Every time I see that meme about the hardest parts of fitness being just training and nutrition, I used to agree. It felt like those were the only challenges standing between us and our fitness goals. 🏆

But as I’ve grown in my fitness journey, I’ve realized there’s much more beneath the surface. 👀 Yes, training and nutrition are essential—they’re the foundation that shapes your results. But there are so many other factors people often overlook, factors that need managing to truly make progress.

I haven’t seen many updated versions of that meme (yet!) 🤣, so let’s make this one go viral. Share this (especially the no.9 slide pic) to spread awareness: fitness isn’t just about a few core elements; it’s a multi-faceted journey with countless challenges and rewards.

Keep pushing forward, and remember, it’s all part of the process! Cheers! 🫡

At the start of the year, a close friend named Loh came to me with a mission. Weighing in at 130kg, he had a big goal — to get under 100kg. He needed this not just for his health but also to qualify for insurance, as his agent told him he was above the weight limit. And so, his fitness journey began. 🤝🏼

From the outset, Loh was committed. He quickly grasped the concept of calories in vs. calories out, and with my guidance, he started tracking his intake. Throughout, he was able to enjoy the foods he loved (check out slide no. 12 to see what he ate 🍲). He didn’t eat the same thing every day, but we kept a solid balance of nutrition to support his training and daily tasks.

By April, he had already made significant progress, dropping to 121kg. But he knew the journey wasn’t over — the real work had only just begun. It took countless hours in the gym, mindful eating, and a commitment to new habits. There were tough days when the progress felt slow, and the goal seemed distant. But Loh kept pushing forward, trusting the process and staying consistent. 😤

Now, here we are in September — he’s down to an impressive 107kg. 💫

At this stage, though, the demands started catching up with him. He was feeling fatigued and constantly hungry, to the point where even tracking 300g of vegetables wasn’t enough to keep him full. So, I decided to put him into a maintenance phase for three months to let him recover, focus on building strength, and regain his energy. 🫡

Though we’re close to the finish line, I don’t believe in pushing him to hit a specific number on the scale if it means compromising his well-being and gym performance. A successful journey isn’t about speed; it’s about the grit, resilience, and dedication that carry you through.

Every transformation has a story, and Loh’s journey reminds us that real change is possible when you commit wholeheartedly. Here’s to his inspiring progress and the next chapter ahead. With the next cutting phase, we’ll get even closer to his goal. Stay tuned! 🌟
