Selamat Hari Sungai Sedunia!

The recent news of the sighting of a mother tiger and cubs on our camera traps is an outcome that could not have been possible without the collective contributions of our partners and donors. Close collaborations such as this strengthen our conservation efforts towards the preservation of our national icon, the Malayan tiger. Grateful thanks from WWF-Malaysia to:

With a heavy heart, the WWF-Malaysia Marine Programme bids farewell to Encik Rosni bin Mahon, who left us on 23rd September 2020. Uncle Chong (as we fondly call him) has worked with WWF-Malaysia since 2006 as a turtle guardian for the Melaka Hawksbill Turtle Conservation Project. We will greatly miss Uncle Chong and his presence. We thank you, Uncle Chong, for your hard work and passion. May you rest in peace.

Did you know that blue shark is the most commonly fished shark species globally? It is also the most common species in the shark fin trade, with its fins ending up in shark fin soup. The blue shark has also been documented in local catches around Malaysia, however they are rare species to be sighted in the wild.
Why not celebrate this Shark Awareness Day by choosing to go fin-free and replace it with alternate dishes such as Double-boiled soup and Braised soup?
Use WWF Sharkulator www.wwf.org.my/sharkulator to find out how many blue sharks you can save and make a pledge! The fin-free revolution is here!
