Slick Boxing Club Dominates Keningau Open Boxing Championship V3.0
KENINGAU, 4 July 2026 — The atmosphere at Bandukan Resort was electric as fighters from across Sabah stepped into the ring for the Keningau Open Boxing Championship V3.0, delivering a full day of explosive action, determination, and unforgettable performances.
In front of an energetic crowd, Slick Boxing Club proved too strong for the competition, emerging as the Overall Champion after securing an impressive nine victories from 12 bouts.
The championship attracted 70 registered participants from around Sabah, featuring 35 scheduled bouts across the U12, U14, U16, and Elite divisions. From rising young talents to experienced elite fighters, fans were treated to intense matchups and thrilling displays of skill, speed, and heart.
Among the standout performers of the night were:
🥊 Fredrio Chrisen of Garagas Fight Team, who captured the Best Boxer U12 title in the 36KG category with a confident performance.
🥊 Bryce Joshbekesha Jozender Juil of Tambuakar impressed spectators in the U14 division and earned the Best Boxer U14 award in the 40KG category.
🥊 Slick Boxing Club continued their dominance through Zill Qayyim Bin Muhamad Hafiz, who was crowned Best Boxer U16 after showcasing exceptional technique and composure in the 46KG category.
🥊 In the Elite division, Deannel Daminus of Malinja Boxing Club stole the spotlight with a powerful display to secure the Best Boxer Elite title in the 51KG category.
The championship was organized by Garagas Fighting Club, supported by the Keningau Tourism & Cultural Association and officially sanctioned by the Persatuan Tinju Negeri Sabah.
The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by Rafie Robert, who congratulated all fighters, coaches, officials, and organizers for making the championship a successful and memorable sporting event.
The Keningau Open Boxing Championship continues to grow as one of Sabah’s exciting grassroots combat sports platforms, uncovering new talents while strengthening the local boxing scene.
