📌 OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM 4 STATE HOCKEY CLUB📌

The Club wishes to address recent comments and misunderstandings surrounding the appointment of our Exco member as Team Manager for the WPKL Girls Under-16 squad at the National U16 Hockey Competition.

As an affiliate of the Kuala Lumpur Hockey Association (KLHA), our Club is duty‑bound to support KLHA in all activities outlined in its constitution. Whenever we feel a request is not aligned with our own constitution, we provide feedback respectfully and propose alternatives — always in good faith.

For the National U16 tournament, KLHA requested our recommendation for a coach. After internal discussion, our Exco unanimously proposed:

1️⃣ Coach Kannagi (SSNKL Girls Coach) as the primary recommendation,

2️⃣ Coach Linda as the alternative option.

These recommendations were based on coaching track records and the structured development environment at SSNKL, which has also been inclusive of girls from various KL schools.

KLHA later decided to adopt an inclusive approach by appointing coaches and team managers from among its affiliates. As a result, our Club President was nominated as Team Manager for the WPKL Girls U16 team. This was unexpected, as we had already declined any managerial role and recommended other candidates.

Concerns about conflict of interest were also raised by certain quarters. We wish to clarify that the President’s daughter is currently injured and not eligible for selection or participation. After consulting KLHA’s President, the appointment was accepted to avoid the perception of the Club refusing to support KLHA’s efforts.

Unfortunately, this decision — made in the spirit of cooperation — has been misrepresented by a few irresponsible parties.

As a Club built on respect, integrity, and shared values, we strongly condemn the unfair treatment directed at our President, his wife and daughter.

His role is purely administrative: ensuring the team is supported, organised, and compliant with tournament requirements.

We as a club remain strong behind the leadership of our President and we are committed to the development of hockey in Kuala Lumpur and to supporting KLHA in strengthening coaching pathways and youth development.

Let us move forward with unity, fairness, and respect for all.

Day 1 - 4 State U18 Carnival

12 teams, 6 boys and 6 girls.
11 a side format with 2 halves of 12-2-12 match time to mitigate the weather risk. Ideally 15-3-15 would be great but weather risk is real this few weeks.

Utk ke pertandingan, kadang-kadang kami akan terkurang player, selalunya goalie. So, kena import pemain.

Pemain import kami jaga betui-betui. Pemain import kami tanggung semua kos, transport, makan, wang poket dan ada insurance cover.

Sesetengah kelab, bila import pemain, dia minta pemain import bayaq. Hmmm...

Belum masuk bab insurance, memang takde la. Naya kat budak dan parents.

Perlu ke join kelab hoki ni?

Jawapan ikhlas kami:

Tidak perlu, jika...

1. Kat sekolah dah ada program sukan hoki yang berterusan. Selalunya ada guru yang minat, berilmu dan komited. Yg kacau, bila Cikgu tu ditukarkan sekolah jer.

2. Niat nak kutip sijil PAJSK sahaja. Ini satu masalah kerana skor utk Sukan hanya satu daripada komponen PAJSK. Kalau tak aktif Ko-Ko seperti persatuan beruniform dan kelab2 sekolah serta skor pentaksiran Jasmani pun tak cantik, skor utk sukan sahaja tidak memadai.

3. Anak nak main tapi parents tak boleh commit utk bawa anak ikut program kelab. Kelab bukan sekolah yang akan buat semua untuk anak. Dalam ekosistem kelab, parents kena uruskan semuanya utk anak-anak - Hantar dan ambil anak ke tempat latihan, bayar yuran on time, bawa ke pertandingan, jaga pemakanan pemain, sediakan peralatan dan macam2 lagi. Kalau parents tak boleh commit, tak perlu join kelab. Banyak musibat akan jadi jika tak boleh commit.

4. Join kelab untuk cari kemenangan dan pos di social media utk cari glamer. Kelab macam2 jenis. Kalau peringkat umur selalunya kelab tu melaksanakan program pembangunan. Objektif bukan bertumpu kepada kemenangan. Sebaliknya berfokus utk membangunkan atlet yang kompeten utk program prestasi tinggi remaja. Kalau masuk kelab pembangunan tapi nak cari kemenangan memang tak ngam. Tak kena. Kelab pembangunan seperti Kelab Hoki 4 State sangat komited utk melahirkan pemain yang kompeten dan bukan mencari kemenangan semata-mata. Kami juga tidak perlu gah di sosial media utk melahirkan pemain yang berkaliber.

Jadi, perlu ke join kelab seperti kami?
