A lot of players assume that if something hurts, it must mean the training is working.

That is not always true.

In badminton, it is important to learn the difference between the discomfort that comes with hard work and the kind of pain that signals a real problem. General muscle soreness, tired legs, or that heavy feeling after a demanding session is usually part of the process. Sharp, sudden, localized pain is a different story, especially if it affects how you move.

The smarter the athlete, the better they get at reading their body.

Knowing when to push, when to adjust, and when to stop can make a huge difference not only for performance, but for long-term development and injury prevention.

At Asia Badminton Academy, we believe education is part of training. The better players understand their body, the better they can train, recover, and perform.

We also use Bowen Modality during our training camps to support recovery and help manage injury-related issues when needed.

Save this post for later and send it to a player, parent, or coach who should know the difference.
