Originally opened in 1991, KLGCC’s two 18-hole championship golf courses, the Par 71 East and Par 72 West Courses had since undergone a total redesign. The revamped West Course reopened in 2009 and the East Course in 2010 respectively. KLGCC’s West Course completed another upgrade in August 2018. By end of 2018, seven Malaysian Opens and five CIMB Classic tournaments were held on KLGCC’s West Course. Its greens and fairways have been graced by world champions including Justin Thomas, Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Ricky Fowler, Lexi Thompson, Jessica Korda, Shanshan Feng, Ryu So Yeon, In Gee Chun and many more. KLGCC captured the world’s attention through the staging of the PGA TOUR, European Tour and the LPGA all within a year for three consecutive years between 2013 and 2015. In October 2016, the Club made history again by successfully staging the CIMB Classic PGA TOUR and Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia consecutively, both feats unknown before in the history of golf. KLGCC also played host for two women's international tennis tournaments: the 2016 BMW Malaysian Open and the 2017 ALYA WTA Malaysian Open. Awards and recognition
KLGCC’s East Course tops the list in the coveted Golf Digest International 2020 Best Golf Courses in Malaysia while the West Course is Malaysia’s Best Golf Course by World Golf Awards 2019 and is ranked 20th in the Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia. The Club is also ranked 82nd place in the Top 100 Platinum Golf and Country Clubs of the World 2020 -2021.
