The Project AWARE event, held on 20 & 21 April, brought together passionate divers to participate in a range of activities aimed at cleaning up underwater debris and raising awareness about ocean conservation. Divers of all ages and skill levels joined forces to make a positive impact beneath the waves.

In addition to cleanup efforts, the event featured educational workshop and presentation led by MSc Marine Biology from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Attendees gained valuable insights into coral reef conservation, marine ecology, and the need to protect our oceans and shores.

Achievements:
*Debris Removal: Participants successfully removed 165.9kg of underwater debris and 36.3kg of trash during beach cleanup, including plastic waste, fishing gear, ghost net and other harmful materials.

*Community Engagement: The event fostered a sense of community among divers and environmental advocates, inspiring ongoing collaboration and action beyond the event itself.

Together, we can protect and preserve our oceans for generations to come. Let's harness this momentum to drive further action and ensure a thriving marine ecosystem for all.
