It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our fellow teammate and friend, Alden Joel Samuel, who has returned to the Lord. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones. May God’s grace, peace, and comfort surround them and strengthen them during this difficult time.
One of our fondest memories of Alden comes from the 2018 Penang Floorball League. When both of our goalkeepers were unavailable, Alden selflessly stepped in to play as a stand-in goalkeeper for the team. At the end of the first period, he dislocated his shoulder but chose not to tell anyone. Despite the injury, he continued playing through all three periods and completed the game without complaint. Only afterward did we learn that he had played the entire match with a dislocated shoulder.
This remarkable act reflects the kind of person Alden was selfless, courageous, and always willing to put the team before himself. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
