Highlighting diverse bodies ✨

I made a promise a couple of weeks ago that I would showcase more diverse bodies so this is one post of many doing that.

I'm aware I am living in a thinner body and I alone do not represent the vast variety of bodies that exist.

It's important that your feed is filled with diverse bodies so it becomes normalized and the new standard instead of us always striving for one body ideal.

You can embrace the body you are in now and is a great example of someone living in their body and embracing it for all it is.

Give him a follow and check out his awesome content and start to fill your feed with different, beautiful bodies 💃🏻

So with this, and the future posts that I have on here, I hope that you see yourself and become more aware of how worthy and valuable a human being you are, no matter what body you're in ❤️

These 5 components will definitely change the game in terms of keeping you fuller for longer and get you to stop thinking about food all day 💭

If you are eating the foods you love and the foods that make your body feel great without restriction, you are less likely to binge.

There is one secret component that you need to have on your plate that is the key to this and what you are probably not even thinking about when it comes to your meals 😲

To find out what is is, head over to the link in my bio to grab your FREE copy of the Secret Component to Creating a Balanced Meal PDF and start creating meals that are super satiating to you!

Thought I'd switch it up and show you different bodies other than my own.

I have been trying to amplify the voice of fat people here on my page, yet I have not shown you diverse body types on my page.

I am aware I exist in a thinner body which comes with it's privileges.

I am aware that you may see my content as a person existing in a larger body and not want to work with me because I am a thinner woman, which is your choice, and I'm cool with that.

So going forward, I will showcase more body types in the hopes that you see yours and think "wow they are beautiful, so am I".

Representation is so important because it forms the stories in our heads of what is "normal" or acceptable in society.

And existing simply as you are, in the body you are in, is not ugly, less worthy or unloveable.

You are more than your body.

You are more than what society deems you to be.

So with this post, and with all my content really, I want to continuously allow you a space where you can challenge your thoughts about your body, food and movement so you can wake up and not absolutely hate what and who you see.

And if you feel comfortable and called to do so, you can DM me a picture of you that you'd like me to share on my feed to inspire the people watching to accept themselves that much more.

Love you all 💕

Let's talk about water 💧

And no, there's no demonizing sugary drinks or anything like that here.

You may live in a place where clean water is less accessible and choosing a fruit drink or soda might be the only way to hydrate right now so no shame in that.

Getting in more water is a health promoting behavior that you might be looking at improving and I'm here to help you out 😎

Staying hydrated is key, your body is roughly 70% water so it makes sense that in order to keep things functioning properly, you need to hydrate!

Here are my top tips to get in some more hydration:

💦 Get yourself a huge (1L+) water bottle and carry it wherever you can. The bigger the bottle, the less frequently you will have to fill it up and if you have it with you always, you're more inclined to drink it.

💦 Set a time where you remember to drink. I personally drink 1L when I wake up, 1L after lunch and try for another one after dinner (this won't work for everyone but just giving an example, find what works for you). I know if I don't follow that pattern, personally, I don't end up drinking as much during the day.

💦 Make sure to always fill up your bottle/cup right when it's empty that way you always have some on hand. It can be easy, especially if you're a super busy person, to just go-go-go through the whole day and before you know it, it's the end of the day and you've drank nothing.

What are some of your favorite ways to get in water?

Fearing eating a single carb is actually hindering your body's ability to function 😵‍💫

Your brain needs at least 110-145g of glucose (which is what carbs breaks down to in your body) in order to function every single day.

That is the equivalent of 8 slices of bread!

And that's just your brain fuel, nevermind what the rest of your body needs to function.

If you add physical activity into the equation, that number is higher.

So if you are questioning if you should have that pasta after you had some toast for breakfast, the answer is YES 🍝

It is time to stop fearing such an essential nutrient that your body needs to keep you alive.

It is actually one of the 5 components you need to have on your plate to keep you feeling full and satisfied all day so you can stop thinking about food all day and stop binging 🤯

If you want to find out what the other components are that you need on your plate to keep you satisfied, head to the link in my bio and get your FREE copy of The Secret Component to Building a Balanced Meal to find out how you can create satiating meals for yourself everyday!

Take the reminder you need today:

✨️ You are not less valuable/loveable/worthy of a person because of your size

✨️ Setting a boundary or saying no to someone, even if you love them, isn't mean, it is looking out for your greatest interest

✨️ It is not your responsibility to control how others feel about you or perceive you

✨️ Don't ignore the gut feeling you're getting. Your brain is a tool for processing information, but your intuition will reveal to you the right answer you need right now. Make your decision from that place, not your mind.

✨️ It's okay if you haven't eaten a single vegetable today and had cake instead

✨️ It's okay if you're not at a place right now of loving or accepting how you look right now, what matters is you continue to act out of compassion for yourself and keep pushing forward no matter how small of an action step that might look like

If you are tired of dieting but also feel like it's super hard to let the goal of weight loss go, read this 👇🏻

I do not blame you for wanting to lose weight.

We live in a very weight centric society where you are treated differently for being in a bigger body.

And so being in a thinner body might allow you to be rid of some of the stressors that people in larger bodies face like someone judging what you are eating for example.

You have your body autonomy and are allowed to do what you want with your body.

But, let me educate you on the facts that come when you pursue weight loss which are that:

👉🏻 More than 50% of all weight loss in diets is regained within 2 years and that goes up to 80% by year 5

👉🏻 Dieters are at higher risks for developing eating disorders and experiencing malnutrition

👉🏻 It does not guarantee that you will suddenly find yourself feeling happier, more fulfilled and confident when you are thinner because these moods are a state of mind

This is something to remember the next time the thought of "let me try another diet" pops up into your head.

Again, do you, but the stats don't lie 👀

It is far more worth it to work on health promoting behaviors and focus on creating a more hopeful mindset, than hyper obsessing about your body, food and movement and negatively affecting your mental health 🤷🏽‍♀️

It is more worth it to experience all the life events without worry about food or how you look.

And let me tell you, it feels fu***ng great to do so!

What is more worth it to you?

3 ways your negative relationship with food is showing up in your romantic partnerships 💔

1️⃣ Communication

If you have a negative relationship with food, you are probably used to being really secretive about it and that can leave your partner struggling to make sense of your words and behaviors. Things that aren't related to weight and your body are somehow now involved in conversations you have which just causes frustration, confusion and anger.

Not to mention, relationships require openness and vulnerability to work, so if you are hiding this from your partner, again, it just leaves them confused about your behavior.

2️⃣ The Bedroom

If you have a negative relationship with food, chances are you also experience low self-confidence, body dissatisfaction, and negative body image which can complicate intimacy. You find yourself completely rejecting s*x or doing it with the lights off which can put a strain on the relationship 😵‍💫

Food restriction can also decrease hormonal functioning, causing a decrease in energy, mood, and libido.

3️⃣ Romantic Gestures that Involve Food

A box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day, a night out to a carnival to enjoy rides and cotton candy, a date at a fancy restaurant...for people with a negative relationship with food, the mere presence of food can cause fear.

This again puts a strain on the relationship as these gestures build more emotional bonds between the two of you, so for you to reject the food, would be in a way rejecting your partner (yikes 😬)

In saying this, please do not lose hope that you can ever have a functioning relationship with a partner.

Your negative food relationship can’t rob you of that unless you let it.

But what’s most important is getting healing for yourself first because your relationship with you is the only one guaranteed to last.

That sounds like a bummer lol, but liking and caring for yourself = an increased likelihood of finding romance ❤️

What is one way you can start caring for yourself today? For me, I'm going out dancing tonight! How about you?

You are doing these 3 things wrong when it comes to moving your body in a more consistent way 😵

1️⃣ You think movement needs to look a certain way.

This was me, thinking my workouts had to be an hour long at least and I had to do a certain amount of reps and sets for it to be "worth it". Or thinking that I needed to go to the gym to be "healthy".

The reality is if going to the gym or whatever form of movement you're doing isn't bringing you joy, then you are far less likely to want to love your body.

2️⃣ You feel like you have to stick to a rigid schedule

Life happens. Things come up. Life would always get in the way of when I wanted to move my body so I would get upset/anxious if life happened and I missed a session.

This is not sustainable, and it is unrealistic for a lot of us to always move our body 6 days a week. In reality, movement for you can look like 1 day in the week one week and 4 the next. It is meant to ebb and flow with your life.

3️⃣ You feel like you can't move your body intuitively

You actually can! There is that innate inner voice in your head that tells you when it's a good time to move and it will take some practice listening to that voice in conjunction with working with your already existing schedule to make it work.

No, you don't need more magical willpower or muster up more discipline.

The simple thing you need is to find joy in movement and make it work for you.

So put down those rigid exercise plans and start tuning into you!

How do you like to get your movement in?

I've been thinking a lot lately...

Kind of been having a quarter life crisis for the past month or so honestly 🥴

I've been questioning many aspects of my life

What is the point?

What is my purpose?

Why am I even doing this? Do I even want to be doing this?

Feelings of frustration, loss, anger, sadness.

So I feel like I've been withdrawing from this platform because it's been a bit energy draining but then I've been ending up in this mental cycle of "it's not a big deal to take a little step back for a short while" and "I need to post for my business"

This whole hustle culture has me tireeeeeddd.

And it's pretty similar to diet culture mentality too in the sense that we always feel the need to be "working hard for a thinner body" and that our health is 100% in our control.

But my girl came in with some wise words of wisdom yesterday and said "that feeling of longing, of wanting more will always be there all our life. I believe it's our longing to return to source and we use these worldly things to try to fill that void, but in the end it doesn't matter if you make that $1 million dollars or whatever goal you set out to achieve if you aren't in the present and happy every moment of your life"

Which I 1000% believe.

It's hard being present and in the now when societal pressures and conditioning are soooo prevalent in our lives.

It's hard, but not impossible.

So I invite you to start living in the now with me.

Take the pressure off to always be performing, to always look a certain way and to please other people.

Let's start living for ourselves and no one else.

Let's learn to radically accept ourselves in the now.

Now is all we have.

I have been watching season 2 of Firefly Lane and it has been having me in my feels 😭

One of the biggest lessons I have taken away from the show is that life is fleeting.

Before you know it, you blink and you're 80 years old looking back like "wtf happened? How did I get here?"

And if you are someone dealing with a negative body image and relationship with food, you will look back at your life wishing you didn't go through life hating your body and denying yourself the food that you want.

Your negative body image causes you to miss out on

🏖️ Going to the beach with your friends because you were too scared of what other people thought of your body

🍦Getting ice cream with your kids on a random Friday night because you are denying yourself dessert

🍆 Experiencing even greater pleasure in the bedroom because you're afraid of what your partner think of your body

And so much more.

Ask the people around you who care about you why they love you.

I guarantee that the size of your body isn't one of the reasons.

Yet, you deny yourself of living life how you want because of how you view yourself.

This isn't your fault, it's the fault of a billion dollar diet industry who needs to create insecurities to sell their products.

But the good news is, you can change the way that you see yourself!

At any moment in time, you can make that decision for yourself and choose to take back your life from diet culture.

And what better time than now?

A snippet of even more awesome information that only people on my email list get access to 🔥
This snippet was part of the topic "3 reasons why food freedom feels like it's "not working" email that I sent out a few days ago!

I went over some of the BIGGEST mistakes you're making when it comes to intuitive eating.

Because there are no set-in-stone rules to intuitive eating, it does provide a framework, but how you practice and experience it will be different from the next person.

Thats why getting 1-1 help when trying to break out of diet culture is key 🔑

You are so unique, so you won't find one template or guideline (no matter how helpful) that will get you to where you want to be 100%

But not to worry, mistakes are meant to be made to you can work to overcome them!

But whether or not you want the answers to these mistakes is up to you. You have to be willing to to let go of rules and embrace your intuition to truly break free of diet culture.

It will feel weird at first and it will take some work but it is SO. WORTH. IT❗

After getting through to the other side you can finally:

☝🏼Step out in any outfit or bathing suit with confidence
✌🏼Go to that function and not worry about the food you're going to eat or avoid
👌🏼Have the mental energy back that you used to focus on food and exercise and channel that into starting that business, getting that raise, and going after what you want

And just enjoy life's moments without diet talk getting in the way!

You can get to a place where you're a more happier, healthier you. All you got to do is book your FREE consultation call with me to find out how: https://calendly.com/thefitrac/discoverycall
