TODAVÍA ME CUESTA CREERLO.

Hoy visité Front Street Gym en Filadelfia, un lugar icónico donde se filmaron escenas de Creed.

Esta semana tendré la oportunidad de hacer sparring aquí como parte de mi preparación para mi cuarta pelea profesional.

Estoy muy agradecido con Gustavo por el contacto, con mi amigo Anthony por el apoyo, con mis alumnos que confían en mí, y con Dios por permitirme vivir experiencias como esta.

Hace años veía este tipo de lugares desde lejos. Hoy tengo la oportunidad de estar aquí, aprender, crecer y seguir persiguiendo mis objetivos como boxeador profesional.

Seguimos trabajando. Nos vemos el 12 de julio en Querétaro.

Detrás de cada pelea hay horas de trabajo que nadie ve.

Madrugar, entrenar, recuperarse, aprender y repetir el proceso una y otra vez.

El deporte no solo forma atletas; forma carácter, disciplina y resiliencia.

Primero voy a traer a mi mamá. Después a mi hermana y a mi papá. Luego a mis amigos y a mis estudiantes.

Estos días en Rhode Island han estado llenos de primeras veces. Me metí por primera vez a otro océano, probé los famosos scallops y también el clásico lobster roll.

Qué lugar tan hermoso. Tantos árboles diferentes, flores, tranquilidad y gente amable.

Antes de venir, mi mamá estaba preocupada. Pensaba que por ser mexicano quizá me tratarían diferente. La realidad ha sido completamente distinta. He recibido respeto, amabilidad y una gran bienvenida en cada lugar que he visitado.

Hoy también me siento agradecido con Dios por poner a las personas correctas en mi camino. Gracias a ellas estoy viviendo experiencias que nunca imaginé y sigo persiguiendo mis sueños dentro y fuera del boxeo.

Gracias por la bienvenida. Espero volver muchas veces más.

Coach Santiago put me through a brutal circuit today.

45 seconds on, 15 seconds off:
• Battle ropes
• Ball slams
• Kettlebell swings

Then 3 minutes Boxing

4 hard rounds, then 10 rollouts to finish each time

I’m in the USA on vacation… but boxers don’t really take vacations.

I haven’t had a real vacation in years, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Every session, every challenge, every round makes me better.

Greenwich and Westport. Beautiful places, full of greenery, great running trails, and stunning scenery.

I remember my wonderful mother was worried that I might be treated differently, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve felt welcomed everywhere I’ve gone.
