The swim throughs at Palancar are my favorite!! With so many to explore, the stillness to witness, and the sun rays peaking through it’s a truly magical and zen experience for me.

Full disclosure- when I was a new diver I did NOT like swim throughs. I would rush through them as fast as possible. With years of buoyancy practice and relaxed breathing it is now one of my favorite places to be. If you are not a fan (yet), know that with practice and good buoyancy control it can be magical for you too.

Other tip to help with swim throughs:
- if you feel too close to the Sandy bottom, put one finger down to gently push you up (do NOT let your fins sink and kick up the silt)
- give the person in front of you time to swim through before you start
- make sure you have good buoyancy before you start the swim through and make small fin kicks to propel yourself forward (not big kicks).
