I am not competing with other dive operations whose main concern is to make the maximum amount of money, having the maximum number of students. Thus, training with me will not be like training with those operations.
Why train with me?
1. An elite instructor (qualifications supplied upon request) with a passion for helping divers achieve their highest level, always focusing on the student's safety, needs, goals, and skills by working 1 on 1. My experience includes but is not limited to fresh and salt water, quarry, cave, wreck, river, even diving below ice, while continuing to train and improve my own skills.
2. Most importantly, student safety is my number 1 concern. None of my students, or even dive buddies have ever found themselves in the recompression chamber. Since we do not have a full understanding of DCS, no one can guarantee that a student will not get bent. However, my close diver friend here on Cozumel runs several bent divers through the chamber nearly every week. We debrief following each occurrence to have a better understanding of real-world causes (accidents/negligence) of DCS, as well as how to prevent its occurrence for students and ourselves.
SCUBA is a serious activity involving life support skills/equipment. We have the ability to explore environments that humans were never designed to explore - only when we have the proper training, skills, experience, and equipment to do it safely. In any discipline, training with the proper coach will help you reach a higher level, and allow you to advance faster. I only accept serious and dedicated students. If cost is your main concern, you should find an instructor whose main concern is making the most money by getting the maximum number of students.
