Meet the Arrow Crab!

One of the strangest-looking residents of Cozumel’s reefs, the arrow crab gets its name from its tiny arrow-shaped body and incredibly long legs.

Despite their spider-like appearance, these fascinating creatures are completely harmless to divers. They spend their days hiding in cracks, crevices, and under ledges, feeding on small worms and other tiny reef inhabitants.

👀 Fun fact: An arrow crab’s leg span can reach over 20 cm (8 inches), while its body may only be 1–2 cm long!
