𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮ñ𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗴𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲 (𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀)

𝗛á𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁: habita en arrecifes rocosos y zonas costeras del Pacífico oriental, entre 1 y 25 metros de profundidad. Prefiere áreas con grietas y refugios, donde se mantiene cerca del sustrato. En Bahía de Banderas es posible observarla en varios puntos de buceo.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶ó𝗻 𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴í𝗮: los adultos presentan un cuerpo robusto y comprimido, de tonos gris oscuro o negruzco con matices azulados; la cabeza y parte frontal suelen ser más claras con márgenes oscuros. Su cuerpo es fuerte y de cola redondeada, lo que le da una apariencia imponente en el arrecife.

𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗶ó𝗻: es una especie de hábitos diurnos y omnívora. Se alimenta principalmente de algas, plancton y pequeños invertebrados, jugando un papel importante en el equilibrio del ecosistema.

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗶ó𝗻: se encuentra en el Pacífico oriental, desde el sur del Golfo de California hasta Ecuador, incluyendo Puerto Vallarta y Bahía de Banderas.
