🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a mathematical formula based on weight and height to determine if a person is in his weight or if they suffer from low weight, overweight or obesity.
This formula is the standard measure used in the international guidelines for overweight and obesity of the World Health Organization (WHO) 🤓
To determine the BMI, we must divide the WEIGHT between the HEIGHT squared. Taking as an example 70 kilos of weight and 1.65cm of height, we must divide 70 between 2.72 (1.65 x 1.65). Resulting in 25.7 BMI
According to this table, we know if we have good weight, low weight, overweight or obesity.
LESS THAN 19.9 - low weight
20 - 24.9 - good weight
25 - 29.9 - overweight
30 - 39.9 - obesity
40 & MORE - morbid obesity
