Forecast for wind and weather for Thursday, May 28, 2026
Hello everyone… It is good to be back at the lake. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jean-Claude, commonly referred to as JC. I am part of the Elevation Wing and Kitesurfing team that works in the shop at the lake. As in previous years, I will be gathering weather information from different sources, such as Environment Canada, the app “Windy and iKitesurf” plus Michael Snyder on his excellent YouTube Channel “Pacific Northwest Weather Watch” to provide you with a summary of what kind of weather and wind we can expect at the lake. I will, with the help of Rachel, publish a written statement with a forecast for the next day and a three day outlook, plus a short video recap in the morning.
The last two days have been excellent for any of the wind-sports we practice at the lake. Today we had a 21 kts wind, blowing as steady as a hair dryer… set on “cold” of course.
For tomorrow we expect another strong day The temperature difference between the coast and inland is expected to reach 9C, one degree C more than on Wednesday. Bottom line, I expect an early start, most likely before 9am and a solid wind blowing all day.
For the outlook, temperatures are expected to drop significantly on Friday and only recover slightly on Saturday before rebounding on Sunday. Despite the narrow temperature difference of only two degrees on Saturday, I still expect (hope) a reasonable wind to blow. For Sunday the forecast looks great with a good temperature spread of 8C.
This weekend will be our season opening and I am looking forward to see you on the lake or at the shop.
