Whatever we might describe as fear, we might, to a lesser degree, call 'tension' or 'stress' or even, 'the unknown' or 'unfamiliar' .
This poem reminds me of when our path might change direction, or call to us to follow another way, to explore the 'other' with curiosity, or face a challenge and not turn away.
I found a beautiful rendition of this poem, spoken, with the background of a white water kayaker in a raging river rapids, and had to write about it again, to describe a particular conversation I'm having with the sea.
I'm discovering something so wildly curious in my freedive training, that speaks to me so deeply that I will come back to this poem again, and bring another visual dimension to this already sublime expression, but of the silence within when we are able to welcome without fear, the sea inside of us.
