When you do a lot of camping you come to appreciate ruggedness and reliability over low weight and.. not much more. Especially if the ruggedness allows for multipurpose use. Bare with me. There's a discount offer at the end.

My name is Jonas. I am known by some as the ""big blond"". And I do a lot of camping. Sometimes alone. Sometimes accompanied. Sometimes by foot. And sometimes by motorcycle.
Now I've tried using modern tents and tarps that are thin, light weight and synthetic. But raise a shelter a little too close to the camp fire (as you would when it's cold) of maybe just have it touch a hot engine part or exhaust pipe when putting it next to the motorcycle, and before long you'll have burnt a few holes in that fancy tarp. The same thing will often happen if you use synthetic rain gear when riding a motorcycle.
That's why I developed my own line of camping gear. And instead of looking for the next thing in high tech materials, I started to look back. At how the old timers did it. Mountaineers, hobos, adventurers, sailors, bushcrafters, hunters, people on the frontier. Turns out they used this material called cotton canvas. Which when treated right can be made wind- and water resistant. While still being able to breathe.

So I made first a tarp. Then a poncho / tarp. And I tried them in the field. I used them as shelters. As bedrolls. As raingear. As windbreaker. As groundcloth. Heck, I used them as a make do mechanics blanket for roadside repairs. Then I used them to carry leaves to camp for ground insulation. Then to carry twigs and branches to camp for firewood. And they held up to the stress and the heat that I put them through. The added ruggedness also made of my Tarp and Poncho a bonafide multi tool.
Some people will still prefer the ultra light stuff. And some people just want the latest. And that's fine, I'm not trying to make anyone change sides. But if you, like me, need to rely on your equipment when the going gets tough, then maybe the ulbator tarp or tarp / poncho is for you?
I am Swedish by origin and I run a small operation in Mexico. We make these items to order. Meaning we cut, stitch and waterproof them in house. Those processes take about a week. Then we ship by regular mail. After placing your order, it will take about 4 weeks for you to get the item. Shocking, I know, in today's right here, right now mentality. But it is worth the wait.
I mention the small operation, because right now, I am very restrictive with the quantity of orders that I choose to accept and process. I'd rather deliver on-time than deal with a back log beyond my production capacity. So a handful of orders a week and that's it. So don't let it take to long to make up your mind before you order...
