I rarely write reviews. Much less long ones. But I felt the strong desire to write about Cachorro (Edgardo) so that you all could understand his greatest.

I booked a trip to Sayulita to bring my surf skills from beginner to intermediate. I found Cachorro deep on a surf forum (the best surfers and surf instructors don’t prioritize advertising and SEO). Originally I booked one session on my first day with him to get a feel our rapport. Before we’d even gotten into the water, we were talking about scheduling more sessions because I was drawn to his attention to instructing me and passion for surf (and seeing others surf)

Ultimately, I booked 3 sessions with him on a 4 day vacation. It would've been 4/4 but he had a prior personal commitment. I learned a wealth of information about water safety, paddling best practices, surf best practices, and ultimately just picked up on so much of Cachorro's surf lifestyle. Cachorro's life is surf, period.

An example of him going above and beyond: my last surf lesson/trip with him was the day I was flying home. I asked to move the trip earlier (think: before dawn) to have time to check out of my Airbnb and he accepted with no hesitation. And no surprise, he was promptly at my Airbnb to pick me up to go to our break at our agreed upon time.

We grabbed meals after our surf trips. And we shared laughs and bonded like brothers.

Ask him about his grand vision for his future surf retreat/camp/ranch!
