Thrilled to share that I’ll be co-emceeing this year’s TEDxStanford event alongside Lauren Yu and Bowen Zheng!

As someone who grew up in the Bay Area, and spent over a decade in New York honing my love and craft of storytelling, it’s been a dream to tie together parts of my journey as a communications coach, show host, and consultant who has been blessed to work with brilliant minds, passionate leaders, and advocates of change worldwide.

Join us on Sunday, April 12th as we hear stories and ideas from the emergency room, to the journey of Miss USA to the London Royal Ballet and beyond!

The week leading up to the last year of my 40’s I made the best investment ever: a retreat in the jungles of Chacala, Mexico which was nothing short of life changing.

I can’t thank the universe enough for introducing me to the incredibly healing, bonding, and rejuvenating work of and and their work to support BIPOC visionaries. I went not knowing much about their work, but trusting that ai needed to heal wounds that I’ve tried to bury and ignore. Let me tell you - these ladies busted my s**t wide open.

Daily yoga, guided breathwork, prayer ceremonies, meditation, hikes, ocean dips and hella fresh food was only a part of what these ladies do to curate a transformative experience.

Sisters who had no idea who I was just days prior held me, and showered me with love, and didn’t allow me to escape from receiving.

Thank you to all for the healing, for your words, and love. I feel like a new Dawn ☀️

What an incredible honor is has been to deliver a keynote speech and workshop on storytelling as a form of advocacy for Fulbright alum in Istanbul, Turkey! 🇹🇷

Through a partnership with the U.S. Department of State, Cultural Vistas and their Muskie Professional Development Program, I shared a framework and tools that can be leveraged for leaders to articulate their experiences, visions and goals for an ever changing world. Many participants were from countries where there are active wars, including Ukraine and Russia, in addition to countries where tensions may be high, including Armenia and Azerbaijan. Needless to say, one of my goals was to show we need to be better storytellers in order to share the realities of people who may be silenced or surpressed, and to use these stories to build partnerships as global citizens.

On a personal note, it was also such a treat to be able to bring along my Mom to help out with some of the production of my content, and to enjoy the incredible views, people and culture of Turkey.

Thank you to the team who brought me on board for this event, and for allowing me to grow as well in my own understanding of the complex realities of an interconnected world I’d like to also thank all of the Muskie Alums in attendance for leaning into the trainings and being vulnerable enough to try something new in the way that they may be sharing their personal experiences, challenges, and visions for a better tomorrow 🌍

And that's a wrap on TEDx Stanford 2024! As a Speaker Curator, Advisor and Coach for this year's fabulous group of thought leaders, it was incredible to help shape their presentations in a way that highlighted the 'why' behind their passions, the journey into their ideas, and their takeaways which moved people to think, feel and act on a range of topics.

From the interview process and the speaker selection to the fine tuning of presentations and co-hosting, it was eye opening to see how much heart, time and dedication went into the process of putting together a well executed event. Having now coached hundreds of people to land TEDx talks, paid speaking engagements, and to tell captivating stories, I'm excited about supporting even more up and coming innovators and creatives in 2025 and beyond!

Congratulations to this year's speakers who included Cherie Brooke Luo, Zach Boyette, Pinyu Liao, Devan Sandiford, Suhani Mohan, Trân Lê, Max Adams and Eric Neumann 🔥

I also have to give a shout out to the organizing committee including Ava Brown, Maya Chandra, Gabriel Nagel and fellow speaker coaches Lauren Yu and Alexa Samaniego 🙌🏾

Interested in learning how I might be able to help you land, craft or deliver a dream speaking gig? Send me a DM! I'd love to continue this momentum.

What an incredible honor it was to coach and host The Moth storytelling showcase featuring exonerees at the Innocence Project National Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. The show featured 7 people who had been wrongfully convicted of crimes they did not commit- many of them serving decades before they were released. Being in a role where I can hold space for people to share their truths and to help be a bridge between attorneys, family members, exonerees and their extended community is truly a humbling experience.

Congratulations The Innocence Network on your 20 years of service and thank you for having me as a instructor and host to help share these stories with the world.

The views from the birthplace of my Mom and her siblings in Charlotteville, Tobago are truly stunning. She’s shared stories of fetching fresh water down in the town and and catching fish for dinner from the Bay. Once a one bedroom shack has been now transformed into a stunning family home known by locals as ‘the glass house’. Truly a blessing to see how far our family has come! 🇹🇹🙏🏾

Celebrating Carnival in Trinidad with my sister has been one of the most festive, creative, and invigorating ways to enjoy our time together. Both our parents are from this beautiful country, and we’ve been during holidays like Christmas and for weddings, but this was the first time ‘playing mas’ as adults, where we got dressed up in beautiful outfits, and paraded to Soca music across multiple stages for almost 8 hours! Looking forward to some down time on the beaches of Tobago. Best way to spend our February, EVER 🇹🇹🎉

Considering my name is on this press release, now might be a good time to let peeps know that I've joined the team from Spotify as a Facilitator for their Sound Up Podcast Accelerator Program! I've been a storytelling coach in this program for the past few years, and now I'm excited to be part of the team leading an initiative to support BIPOC creators who are interested in learning how to create, pitch and sustain a podcast.

Applications are now OPEN for the newest Sound Up Initiative, which is for people who want to create content for children (age 3 - 5 and 6 - 9 years old). The program is completely free for those who are accepted, and includes a week long training program in LA this summer, a 5 week virtual training in the Fall, and the connection with a production company to create a pilot. Spotify will be picking up one of these podcasts as an original series.

If you or someone you know is looking to get into the podcasting space, please pass along the application! I'll also be hosting some rooms on Greenroom to spread the word. More info is in the application page (and no, I don't select the applicants - that is a team effort ya'll). https://soundupus.byspotify.com/
Now lets go make some great stories and podcasting magic!
