The boys have responded well - Mponda
Masters FC head coach Peter Mponda says the players have responded positively in training following last weekendβs defeat to Silver Strikers, as we shift focus to Sundayβs FDH Bank Premiership encounter against Goshen City Dedza Dynanos Bingu National Stadium.
Mponda described the mood in camp as determined and motivated, with the squad eager to bounce back to winning ways. He admitted the result against Silver Strikers was frustrating, but believes the reaction from the players this week has shown character and commitment ahead of the next assignment.
The Masters FC coach said he is expecting a difficult challenge against Dedza Dynamos despite their slow start to the season. According to Mponda, the opponents will arrive highly motivated as they continue searching for their first win and first goal of the campaign, making concentration and discipline key for us on Sunday.
Following the defeat, Mponda revealed that the technical panel has been working on addressing the defensive mistakes that proved costly last weekend. He, however, maintained that there were encouraging moments in the teamβs overall performance and says valuable lessons have been taken from the match.
On the injury front, Mponda confirmed that Hadji Wali and Damiano Kunje are being monitored after picking up knocks, while Precious Sambani is unlikely to feature. Despite the concerns, he expressed confidence in the squad depth, insisting we have quality replacements ready to step up when called upon.
