Get in shape and reward yourself with incredible views as we tackle one of the Lilongwe area steep hikes: Ngala Mountain!
THE TRIP:
From the trailhead, the way up Ngala Mountain becomes obvious and the climb starts in earnest. We'll take a hidden trail on the way up, pacing ourselves along the way. Our first real break comes at a junction with the peak Trail where we can catch our breath and relax for a few minutes. After rousing ourselves from our well-deserved break, we'll push on to the summit. Amazing views and sounds of different birds await...
We'll take a well-deserved break at the summit and savor the views. The good news is that from here it's all downhill, but the descent is just as steep as the ascent.
LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE RECOMMENDED:
Ngala Mountain is a great trip for fit beginners and regular hikers alike. Be prepared for a full (5-6 hours) of hiking with the Explorers' Club.
This hike is at times strenuous, with an overall 2000ft elevation gain. You should be in good hiking shape and be prepared for fog along the way. Layered clothing is advised.
Along the way, your Explorers Club guide will show you the way , keep the conversation going provide delicious snacks to enjoy on the trail. Meet new friends, explore the trails with experienced guides and make this weekend count!

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING
A recommended gear list will come with your confirmed reservation, but you should generally be prepared with the following:
Clothes appropriate for the weather
Appropriate footwear
2 litres of water
Bring your own lunch, we will have some snacks to share with the group
A small daypack to carry your personal items while hiking (no plaster bags)
