Flames head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has named a 23-member locally based squad to enter camp on Saturday, 7 March 2026 as Malawi begins preparations for the Four Nations Tournament scheduled for 23 to 31 March 2026 in Botswana.

The tournament will be played at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown and falls within the March FIFA international window. The matches will form part of the Flames’ preparations for upcoming AFCON qualifying assignments following their last international fixture against Lesotho in November.

Pasuwa has handed maiden senior national team call-ups to defenders Dan Sandukira, Hermas Masinja and Charles Mafaiti, as well as forward Wallace Adam.

The Flames coach is expected to announce his final squad, which will include foreign-based players, closer to the FIFA international break.

South­ern Zone Bas­ket­ball League (Sozobal) Ladies Divi­sion defend­ing cham­pi­ons Kukoma Eagles have engaged former FCB Nyasa Big Bul­lets assist­ant coach Fisc­her ‘Anong’a’ Kon­dowe to help them with fit­ness train­ing.

Eagles vice cap­tain Christina Type said they opted for Fisc­her to enhance the team’s phys­ical con­di­tion dur­ing the Sozobal play­offs, hav­ing fin­ished second behind Mys­tics in reg­u­lar sea­son.

“Dur­ing the reg­u­lar sea­son we lost one game to Mys­tics and we ended up fin­ish­ing num­ber two on head-to-head stand­ing. It has also been tough for the team since we lost our team man­ager Ron­ald Mbekeani but we are man­aging. We are blessed to have the help of Fisc­her to help us with phys­ical fit­ness,” Type said.

On his part, Fisc­her said he was delighted to be given an oppor­tun­ity to help improve the team’s fit­ness.

“We are yet to form­al­ize everything but I have already star­ted my work on Monday. It is true that most of the play­ers in the team lack fit­ness and I will try my level best to boost their fit­ness levels,” he said. (Daily Times)

Ahmad Kung'unde Joins FCB Nyasa Big Bullets

Defender Ahmad Kung'unde has reached an agreement to join FCB Nyasa Big Bullets after opting not to renew his contract with Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

Kung'unde enters the move as a free agent following a disagreement regarding salary terms during extension talks with the Nomads. Seeking a fresh start, the defender has now committed to the People's Team project.

The move is backed by a finalized financial package that met the defender's expectations:

Signing-on Fee: K7 million

Monthly Salary: K750,000

The move to Bullets facilitates a reunion with striker Ephraim Kondowe. The two players have a long history together, having progressed through the ranks at the Wanderers Reserve side before their eventual promotion to the senior team.

Kung'unde has expressed his satisfaction with the move and is looking forward to integrating into the squad alongside his former teammate.

With the personal terms fully agreed upon, the club is expected to conduct an official unveiling ceremony shortly to formally introduce the defender to the supporters.
