Yankho Christian Chitembeya is a Professional Footballer who played in the Malawi National Team Under 17 2020 Cosafa Tournament Championship. He comes from the same famous William Kamkwamba 'The
Boy Who Harnessed the Wind' hometown of Wimbe in Kasungu District, Malawi. He was Born on 9th January 2004 at Kasungu District Hospital from his beautiful and humble parents, Mrs. The youthful Yankho attended elementary education at Boma Primary School in the Municipality of Kasungu from 2009 to 2016 where he developed a strong passion in Soccer. He then started playing football at school where his Coaches noticed his strong charisma in the sport. Yankho's tactics were superb and extremely impressive for the young lad that his parents had him enrolled into the Tatenda Football Academy to advance his soccer skills where he played in different tournaments. In 2017, he was voted the 'Best Player of the Tournament' in the heated Tatenda Hardware Trophy in which he excelled with flying colors whereas building strong foundations for his career in football. The young Yankho thereafter joined the Chisomo Football Academy in 2018 owned by the Malawi Women National Team Technical Coach, Chisomo and her husband who also plays for Kasungu Police Womens and Mens Football Teams, respectively. The couple have done a great job utilizing their vast professional football skillsets mentoring the youths and developing their football careers into professionals in the National Leagues and produced several National Players through the programs that carters to orphanages and street children. Chisomo Football Academy is run as a Non-Profit organization that would be great to sponsor its lucrative initiatives for the local and national children who have benefited tremendously from its successful soccer programs and boot camps. grooming future Malawi Flames National Players and professional football players in the Country and abroad. At Chisomo Football Academy in Kasungu, Yankho started playing Under 13 and participated in different tournaments as the FMB Trophy, Kukoma Trophy which were both played in the Commercial City of Blantyre. After successfully participating in the tournaments Yankho was therefore promoted into the Under 15 and 17, respectively for the Chisomo Football Academy in his hometown of Kasungu. In 2017 Yankho sat for the Malawi Primary School Leaving Certificate, PSLC and was selected to Boma Community Day Secondary School, CDSS. He was fortunately selected afterwards in the same year to go and start Form One at the prestigious Robert Blake Secondary School in Dowa District and further his studies. He is currently doing his Senior Year at Robert Blake Secondary School exceling as a top scholar in his academic achievements, similarly. During the holidays the charismatic Yankho would join his friends at Chisomo Eagles at home in Kasungu. The opportunity to play in different tournaments such as the FMB Trophy and the Kukoma Trophy against other teams from different parts of the Country, gave him a much-needed national exposure to excel in the game of football. Calm disciplined and focused whereas building his technics to expand horizons and skillsets on the soccer fields and personal development as a young leader and role model to otherwise youths he encounters. His personal aspirations, professional aptitude and football career development, besides academics, has inspired many youths at home and in the Country. He has apparently developed a vast range of fanbase and followers along his youthful career as he is normally referred to as 'Captain Wennaeh' by others in school, fans and peers. His selection and most importantly participation in the Malawi National 2020 U-17 Cosafa Tournament Championship was one of his greatest achievements as a young football player gaining anchorages in the World Soccer Platforms and International Podiums. The Trophy Tournaments he massively played compelled different Coaches to notice his capabilities and potential in making it bigger in the sports industry. He was seen professionally playing as a left back defender which is a rare trait in football. Yankho therefore continued playing for his home team, Chisomo Football Academy. In November of 2020, he was called for tryouts in the National Team Camp at Mpira Camp in Blantyre for the Under 17 National Squad. The tryouts instituted 43 Players who were selected for trials in the 2020 Cosafa Under 17 Championship Tournament to be played in Pretoria, Republic of South Africa. The Team constituted 20 Soccer Players but, 30 Players were apparently selected for further scrutiny. After more trials were conducted, Yankho merged to be amongst the 20 Football Players who were selected to represent the Malawi National Team Under 17 in Cosafa Championship Tournament Under 17 in Pretoria, South Africa. Yankho played as left back in the entire Cosafa tournament that posted the Malawi National Team at 4th position. Yankho is currently the Robert Blake Secondary School Sports Prefect since 2019 when he was selected for the position. At Robert Blake Secondary School, he has been playing for the School Football Team since his freshman year. He serves as the Football Team Captain and has played in the Coca Cola Schools National Tournament in the Country. Yankho Wennaeh Christian Chitembeya is similarly, the Captain for His Hometown Football Academy, Chisomo Football Academy � in Kasungu where his Coach Extraordinaire Chisomo and her Husband whom are owners of the organization have done an exceptional job in grooming and mentoring the youth into leaderships and professional athletes. The Prestigious program has produced prominent youth Soccer � players in various Championships for girls and boys at local, national and international levels as Cosafa besides Chisomo's magnificent performances as the Malawi Womens National Team Technical Coach Extraordinaire
