Just a few weeks ago, we put out a call for new players, eager to expand our ranks and embrace the spirit of inclusivity. One thing was clear: while our team was strong, there was a missing piece to our puzzle โ a female squad. ๐บ๐ช
The response we received was nothing short of incredible. People from all over Bangwe, sharing the same love for the game, rallied behind our cause. And on the 30th of March, history was made as our newly formed female team stepped onto the pitch for the very first time.
Facing off against the formidable Mulanje Sapitwa Rugby Team, the stakes were high and the excitement palpable. While the final score may not have tipped in our favor, what we gained from that experience was invaluable. ๐ค๐ญ
We learned the importance of resilience in the face of defeat, the power of unity in overcoming challenges, and the sheer joy of playing the game we love. Each tackle, each pass, and each moment on the field served as a lesson โ a steppingstone towards our ultimate goal.
