What a fantastic team performance from OFFU FC! We are delighted to secure a convincing 38-run victory over Lions Recreation Club after posting 142/8 in 20 overs and bowling them out for 104 in 18.1 overs. This was a complete team effort, full of determination, discipline, and fighting spirit from the first ball to the last.
A special mention goes to Asharus Shafraz, who played an absolutely magnificent unbeaten 87 off 67 balls*, smashing 11 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 129.85. His composed and match-winning innings anchored our batting and gave us the perfect platform to defend a competitive total.
Our bowlers then took charge of the game with an outstanding performance. Saidul Islam produced a match-winning spell of 4 wickets for just 12 runs, while Arachchige Don Gishan Buddika backed him up brilliantly with 2 wickets for 20 runs. Rasel Mia and Sahaya Subin Riyason also picked up crucial wickets to keep the pressure on throughout the innings. The discipline, consistency, and teamwork shown by every bowler were exceptional.
The fielding was equally impressive and played a huge role in this victory. Brilliant catches, energetic ground fielding, sharp run-outs, and excellent coordination made it a pleasure to watch. Every player gave 100% on the field, proving once again that matches are won through teamwork, commitment, and supporting one another.
