🏏 Hussain Arif Riza appointed Maldives Men’s National Team Manager

The Cricket Board of Maldives is pleased to announce the appointment of Hussain Arif Riza as the new manager of the Maldives Men’s National Cricket Team.

Arif Riza was appointed today by CBM President Mohamed Faisal and CBM Vice President Ahmed Ishaq.

A popular domestic cricketer for over 30 years, Arif Riza brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role.

We wish him every success as he takes on this important responsibility. 🇲🇻

CBM President Mohamed Faisal Re-elected as ACC Associate Director.

Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) President Mohamed Faisal has been elected as an Associate Director of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for a second term.

The election took place at the recently concluded ACC Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Bangkok.

Faisal’s re-election reflects his continued contribution to Asian cricket and his engagement in the development of the sport across the region.

He is also currently serving his third term as the International Cricket Council (ICC) Non-Voting Representative for Asia, further strengthening the Maldives’ representation within regional and international cricket bodies.

The 17th Inter Resort Cricket Tournament 2026 concluded with a memorable closing ceremony honouring the top teams, standout performers, and key contributors throughout the competition.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Guest and President of the Cricket Board of Maldives Mr. Mohamed Faisal, Vice President of CBM Ahmed Ishaq, Purchasing General Manager of Sun Siyam Resorts Maldives Mr. Sabirul Hassan, and HR Coordinator of Cross Roads Maldives Mr. Ihsaam.

Following an exciting opening day last week, the tournament resumes on Wednesday, 19 August at Ekuveni Cricket Ground, Malé.

A full day of group-stage action will determine the teams progressing to the knockout rounds, before the tournament concludes with the semi-finals and final later in the day. 🏆

📺 The Final Match will be broadcast live on SSTV.
