One of South Ari Atoll’s most iconic dive sites. 🌊

Kuda Rah Thila a Marine Protected Area since 1995 sits about 35–40 minutes from Villa Park, Sun Island - Maldives , and every descent here feels like entering a living wall of fish.

At 12–15 m, the top of the thila is often completely covered by blue-stripe snappers, sometimes so dense they turn the reef into a moving silver cloud.

But the real action happens in the blue.

⚡ Giant Trevallies and jacks hunt through the schools
🦈 Grey reef sharks patrol the upcurrent side
🐟 Dogtooth tuna occasionally flash past at speed

On the eastern side, divers can explore large overhangs and a small archway, while deeper slopes between 25–30 m reveal magnificent giant gorgonian sea fans swaying in the current.

With its currents, predators, and dense fish life, Kuda Rah Thila is a true South Ari classic and best enjoyed on Nitrox for extended bottom time and exploration.

Stonefish are primarily ambush predators that rely on camouflage instead of active swimming to catch prey. They are not strong swimmers and usually move by using their pectoral fins to "walk" along the ocean floor. When necessary, they can propel themselves short distances with their tails, mainly to escape threats. Their swimming is characterized by slow, deliberate movements, emphasizing their strategy of staying hidden and still for survival, making swimming a secondary behavior.
