The Mauritius Basketball Federation (MBBF) is proud to announce that Coach Marie Christelle Martine Madré has been selected by FIBA Africa to represent Mauritius at the African Mini Basketball Forum, taking place in Moroni, Comoros, from 26 to 29 July 2026.

This prestigious development programme brings together coaches from across Africa to exchange knowledge, develop best practices, and strengthen the growth of Mini Basketball on the continent.

We congratulate Coach Christelle on this well-deserved opportunity and commend her commitment to the development of basketball in Mauritius.

On behalf of the MBBF, we wish her a safe journey and every success throughout the Forum.

We are confident that she will proudly represent our federation and return with valuable knowledge that will contribute to the development of Mini Basketball in Mauritius.

On behalf of the entire Mauritian basketball community, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Mr Philippe Chan Kin.

Philippe Chan Kin was a distinguished public servant who served Mauritius with dedication as a Permanent Secretary, while also leaving an indelible mark on the sporting landscape of our country.

As the second President of the Mauritius Basketball Federation, he devoted many years to the development of basketball in Mauritius. His vision, leadership and unwavering commitment helped lay the foundations for the growth of the sport and inspired generations of players, coaches and administrators.

His passion for basketball was also shared by his son, Jean-Marie Chan Kin, a former player of Attila Sports Club, who now resides in Canada.

On behalf of the Mauritian basketball community, we extend our sincere condolences to his beloved wife, his children, Jean-Marie, and the entire Chan Kin family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this time of loss.

May Philippe Chan Kin rest in eternal peace. His legacy of public service and dedication to Mauritian basketball will long be remembered.
