Together, Britain’s 30 million gardeners can all make a positive contribution towards the climate and biodiversity crisis.
We're launching the Planet-Friendly Gardening Campaign, part of our new Sustainability Strategy, in Parliament this evening. We'll be calling on government, industry, influencers, communities and individuals to recognise that gardening and growing plants more sustainably can play a major role - and it is something we can all do, either on a window sill, in our own gardens or with a community gardening group.
Here Sylvia Travers, team leader at RHS Garden Bridgewater, cares for plants using water collected from a natural bore hole and stored in a dipping pool. Plants across the 154 acre garden are watered only from sustainable sources.
