Jade Bartoli is heading to Prague to represent Malta at the upcoming youth international tournament starting tomorrow.

Jade has a busy schedule ahead in the U13 category. Here are her opening match times:

Thursday 28th May (Singles Group Stage)

6:30 PM – WS U13 Group B: vs Ravza Nur Çoşar
8:00 PM – WS U13 Group B: vs Silvia Růžičková

Friday 29th May (Doubles Knockout)

4:30 PM – WD U13 Round of 32: Jade Bartoli & Katarína Pobehová vs R. Özdemir & Y. Şahbaz

Jade will also compete in Mixed Doubles as the 3/4 seeds with partner Matej Žuti, starting with a bye in the Round of 64.

𝐏𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐆𝐏! 🏆🥈🥉

It has been a highly successful weekend for our Academy players competing at the 4th Grand Prix Verona in San Bonifacio, with the team bringing home multiple podium finishes.

Here is a summary of the top results from the tournament:

Elenia Haber secured a fantastic silver medal in the Women's Singles, finishing in a brilliant second place after a great run of matches. She also reached the quarter-finals in the Women's Doubles.

Diego Scalvini enjoyed an incredibly consistent weekend, picking up three third-place finishes. He earned bronze in Men's Singles, Men's Doubles alongside G. Caracausi, and Mixed Doubles playing with A. Pellizzari.

Lauren Azzopardi put in a strong performance to reach the quarter-finals in both her Singles and Women's Doubles events. In the doubles, she partnered with Elenia Haber and put up a brilliant fight against the 3/4 seeds Anna Sofie De March and Samar Dhahri, narrowly missing out on a semi-final spot in a very close second set that ended 15-7, 19-17.

A massive well done to Elenia, Diego, and Lauren for their hard work and excellent results this weekend!

It has been a tough few days on the international circuit, with our players facing top-seeded opponents across Europe and beyond.

**Saint Denis Reunion Open**
In France, Matthew Abela and Gaby Skorkowska bowed out against high-ranking opposition from India and Singapore. Despite the losses in Singles and Mixed Doubles, it was another valuable opportunity to compete at this level.

**Slovenia Open**
In Maribor, Sam Cassar played his Round of 64 match this morning against Turkey’s N. Sarac. It was a well-fought contest, but Sam eventually lost out 13-21, 13-21.

Attention now shifts to Italy for the Verona Gran Prix this weekend. Best of luck to Elenia Haber, Lauren Azzopardi, and Diego Scalvini as they start their campaign tomorrow!

It is a great chance to get some proper matches in and see where your game is at.

Time: 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Mission Accomplished: BC Catania Promoted to Serie A! 🏆

​It was a nerve-wracking final day at the PalaBadminton, but Matthew Abela, Samuel Cali, and Francesca Clark have successfully secured promotion to Italy's top flight, Serie A!

​Representing BC Catania, our trio faced their toughest test today against Acqui Badminton. After falling 0-2 behind in the tie, the team showed incredible resilience to mount a comeback.

​Francesca Clark sparked the comeback with a gritty three-set win in the Women's Singles (5-15, 15-13, 16-14).
​Matthew Abela dominated his Men's Singles match 15-4, 15-4 to level the tie.
​Samuel Cali and Michelle Alercia then sealed the deal in the Mixed Doubles, winning 19-17, 16-14 to complete the 3-2 victory.

​With three wins from three matches, BC Catania finishes at the top of the standings with a perfect record.

BC Catania Top the Table After Opening Day in Playoffs.

​It has been a dominant start for Matthew Abela, Samuel Cali, and Francesca Clark at the Serie B Promotion Playoffs in Milan.

​Representing BC Catania, the three Maltese players helped the team secure two big wins today:

​5-0 against Genova BC.
​4-1 against Paternò BC.

​Matthew, Samuel, and Francesca all contributed points across Singles and Doubles to keep the team in first place with 11 points. They now head into the final match against Acqui Badminton tomorrow with promotion firmly in their sights.

​Three Maltese players are back on court today for the Play Off dei Campionati Italiani a Squadre 2026 at the PalaBadminton in Milan.

​Matthew Abela, Samuel Cali, and Francesca Clark are in the thick of the action as they compete for their team BC Catania for a spot in Serie A

​The competition follows a round-robin format. Today, the team faces:

​Genova BC
​Paternò BC

​The matches continue tomorrow, Sunday 10 May, with a fixture against Acqui Badminton.
