⛵ Our Learn to Sail Level 2 Bug Group is making fantastic progress on the water!

Over the past few weeks, these young sailors have been building their confidence, improving their boat handling skills, and learning how to sail independently in a variety of conditions. Every session brings new challenges and achievements, and it's great to see their enthusiasm and determination.

They are now working towards the next step of joining our Optimist Beginners Group, where they'll continue developing their sailing skills and take on new adventures on the water.

We’re proud to see our sailors Matthew Flores and Katrina Micallef representing the club at the ILCA Senior European Championships in Croatia this week! 🇭🇷⛵

Competing against some of the best senior sailors in Europe is a huge achievement and an incredible experience. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment on and off the water have earned them this opportunity, and we couldn’t be more excited to support them.

We’re also delighted to see Ben and Mia from MYSC taking part in the championship alongside them — a fantastic representation for Maltese sailing on the international stage. 🇲🇹

A special thank you Royal Malta Yacht Club, Malta Sailing Federation and - SportMalta for their continued support and encouragement of our sailors throughout their journey.

We wish all four sailors fair winds, great racing, and an unforgettable championship. The whole club is behind you! 💪

Every Wednesday in June
🕕 18:00 – 20:00

Our evening sessions are ideal for adults who want to gain hands-on sailing experience, improve their technique, and spend more time out on the water with experienced instructors.

You’ll learn:
• Basic boat handling
• Sailing techniques
• Safety and confidence on the water
• Teamwork and communication

The RMYC Sailing School was delighted to welcome another group of students from the National Sports School for an exciting session on the water!

This time, the visiting students came from a variety of sporting backgrounds including badminton, judo, and other disciplines — proving that the skills developed through sport can transfer in many different ways.🏸🥋🏓🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀

The students embraced the challenge of sailing with enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination. It was fantastic to see such energy, focus, and sportsmanship throughout the session.

We look forward to welcoming them back for more sailing adventures in the future! ⛵

Our sailors continued their international campaign this season by competing at the ILCA 7 Senior, U21 & U19 Open Croatian Championship 2026 in Split, Croatia.🇭🇷🇭🇷

Representing Team Malta were Mathew Flores and Benjamin Vassallo (MYSC), taking part in a highly competitive three-day regatta featuring a fleet of 75 boats, including several world-class sailors. The event, hosted by JK Mornar Split, served as an important warm-up regatta ahead of the Senior European Championship.

At the parallel venue, Katrina Micallef and Mia Busuttil (MYSC) competed in the Prvenstvo Hrvatske ILCA 6 (Croatian Nationals, 8–10 May), hosted by JK Split, with similarly strong fleet numbers and competitive participation.

These events continue to provide valuable exposure and experience for our athletes as they prepare for major international championships throughout the season.

We would like to thank the Maltese Olympic Committee and the Royal Malta Yacht Club for their continuous support towards athlete development and international participation🇭🇷

We were delighted to welcome the Basketball team from the National Sports School Sport School, who joined our sailing session alongside the school’s Sailors.🏀⛵

It was great to see young athletes from different sports come together, try something new, and embrace the challenges of being out on the water.🌊

Experiences like these highlight the value of teamwork, adaptability, and stepping outside of your comfort zone. Well done to all participants for their enthusiasm and spirit throughout the session!
