One of the strangest things I experienced when I first started doing this job was people not understanding just how much of my time it took up, or that this genuinely was my whole gig.

People used to assume I had another job or some second source of income on the side, but in reality I just dove headfirst into the industry without really knowing whether I was going to succeed.

There wasn't much of a backup plan. I decided this was what I wanted to do and committed everything to making it work.
