Good morning everyone,
It’s a good day to be part of this community, and I say that with confidence and a heavy heart, a mix I don’t normally feel.
The night didn’t go exactly the way we wanted, but that’s the sport.
Jesus went up against a very strong opponent with a lot more experience. He took shot after shot and refused to go down. I didn’t get to see the whole fight because I was backstage preparing for mine, but we could hear the gym roaring for him the entire time. That support matters. He showed real toughness in the face of genuine pain and still held his chin high with us afterwards.
My fight was honestly some of the most fun I’ve had in a while. Credit to my opponent and his team, he was solid. I knew he wouldn’t go down easily, but I really tried. Looking back, I can see there’s still a lot for me to improve on and a lot of ring rust to shake off.
Kyle’s fight was also a surprise. Technically he was doing very well, but once the distance closed and things got wild, he got caught and took too many shots to recover properly.
Looking at the three of us, we know exactly what needs to be worked on before the next fights.
I’m honoured to call these men my brothers, students, and friends. We’re bonded through blood, love, and the willingness to keep trying no matter what.
And to the community, thank you. You made your presence felt all night. Loud, loyal, and behind us from start to finish.
MTB will become a household name. Mark my words.
Thank you to all of you and to the organizers for this amazing opportunity.
