Dopo la prima uscita in trasferta e la vittoria del Trofeo delle miniere a Caltanissetta, esordio tra le mura amiche per la Passalacqua 💥 L'appuntamento è domenica 20 settembre alle 19, nel nido delle aquile 🦅🦅, il Pala Minardi. Le nostre ragazze affronteranno l'Athleta Basketball club, una compagine che gioca nella massima serie maltese e che vanta una lunga tradizione cestistica.

🏀 The 2026/27 season tips off!
Our U16 Girls and U16 Boys open their campaigns this Sunday at the U16 Memorial Cup - a full day of basketball with three games each before wrapping up the group stage next week.
Come down and support our young athletes as they take on Depiro, Hibs, Luxol and Starlites!

Our Women's team will be playing against the USA Select Women in the Elite Basketball Tournament Malta tomorrow at 17:00 at the Ta Qali Basketball Court.

As the preseason comes to an end, we now start looking at playing time. Our 16A boys had their first friendly against Depiro Sports Club yesterday evening. Well done to all 👏

🔴⚪ SIGNING ANNOUNCEMENT ⚪🔴

We are delighted to announce the signing of Akili Evans for the 2026/27 season! 🇺🇸

The 6'5" guard/forward arrives in Malta following an outstanding season with Lenoir-Rhyne University in the NCAA, where he was named South Atlantic Conference Newcomer of the Year and earned All-Conference Second Team honours — averaging 13.9 points per game on 53% shooting and even landing on SportsCenter's Top Ten with a highlight dunk. 💥

A Connecticut native, Akili brings NCAA Division I experience from Austin Peay State University and Sacramento State, and everything you want on both ends of the floor — scoring, playmaking, athleticism, and a 6'9" wingspan that makes him a serious problem on defence.

Welcome to the family, Akili. Let's get to work. 💪

🚨 SIGNING NEWS 🚨

Athleta Basketball Club is delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Mayfield for the 2026/27 season!

The 6'8" forward joins us from Mississippi Valley State University, where he spent last season in the SWAC — one of the toughest conferences in NCAA Division I basketball.

A relentless presence in the paint, Daniel led the Delta Devils in both rebounding and blocked shots, averaging 13.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game across 28 starts. In conference play, he stepped it up further, putting up 14 points and 6 rebounds a night while shooting 45% from the field.

He also earned a place on the Rainbow Classic All-Tournament Team in Honolulu, where he averaged 23.5 points and 8.5 rebounds across two games. 🏆

Last season took him into arenas against Texas A&M, Kansas State, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Florida State — so he arrives in Malta having tested himself at the very top level of American college basketball.

Rebounds, rim protection and a genuine physical edge. We can't wait to see him in our colours. 👊

Athleta's nursery is taking new players for the 2026/27 season — come try it out at our Open Day, Saturday 5 September at Sacred Heart College, St Julian's.
Bring sportswear, trainers, and a water bottle. We'll do the rest.
Training starts Monday 7 September.

🏀 **Another new signing... Michela Marmara 🧡

We’re delighted to welcome Michela to the club for the upcoming season!

Michela has been playing basketball since the age of 10, with experience at both Luxol and Hibernians. She has also proudly represented Malta at U16, U18 and U20 level, gaining valuable international experience along the way. 🇲🇹

Her achievements include an U18 Division C gold medal and an U16 Division C bronze medal, alongside several domestic titles throughout her teenage years. 🥇

Competitive, determined and always eager to improve, Michela will be joining our Senior and Under-23 teams this season. We’re excited to see her continue developing, take on new challenges and make her mark with us. 💪🏀

Balancing basketball with her law studies is no easy task, but her commitment and drive are clear to see.

We are delighted to welcome Keira Fenech Ishmael to our club! 💪❤️

A new chapter begins for Keira, who will be joining our Senior and Under-23 teams this season. We’re excited to have her as part of the family and can’t wait to see what she brings to the court!

Keira’s basketball journey began at the age of 10. She developed her game with Hibernians Basketball Club until the age of 16, before continuing her journey with Depiro Basketball Club, where she competed and continued to grow as a player until the age of 21.

Throughout her journey, basketball has taught Keira the value of trust, teamwork, selflessness, commitment, and always having your teammates’ backs — qualities that make a player not only better on the court, but also an important part of a team.

Now, she is ready for her next challenge! 🔥

Keira is looking forward to working hard, giving her best on and off the court, learning, competing, and contributing to both our Senior and U23 teams as we work towards our goals this season.
