Gzira United Football Club Welcome to the Official Gzira United Football Club page. Established in 1947, in 1973 the Club won the FA Trophy.

After years playing the lower divisions the club was promoted again to the Premier League in season 2016/17.In the last 5 seasons starting from season 2018/19 the Club participated in the European Competitions, playing 18 matches, winning 4, drew 7 and lost 9. The club always passed 1 round and in season 2022/23 passed for the 3 round ot the UEFA Conference League. In these European Campaigns the

club eliminated clubs like Hajduk Split of Croatia and Radnicki Nis of Serbia. Another good result was a draw of 0-0 against Wolfsberger in Austria.

Gżira United FC is delighted to announce the signing of 27-year-old Argentine midfielder Jonathan Leonardo Farías ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Having come through the renowned Boca Juniors Youth Academy, Jonathan has built an impressive career representing clubs in both Argentina and Europe. During his professional journey, he has featured for Cercle Brugge (Belgium), Defensa y Justicia, Agropecuario, and Deportivo Español, gaining valuable experience across different competitions and footballing environments.

A hardworking and technically accomplished midfielder, Jonathan brings quality, intensity, and versatility to the Maroons as we continue strengthening our squad for the season ahead.

Everyone at Gżira United FC would like to extend a warm welcome to Jonathan and wish him every success in Maroon colours.
