With the new season just around the corner, we caught up with Lija Athletic F.C. Head Coach Joseph Galea to get his thoughts ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

โPre-season was intensive and the players worked very hard. We focused on both the physical and tactical aspects of our game, and we have made significant progress since the beginning.
Day by day, we are seeing improvements, although unfortunately we have a few injuries which mean we are not yet at full strength.โ

โWe will take things game by game. We have a clear objective in mind, but the season is long and anything can happen. We need to try to stay in touch with the teams at the top.
On paper, teams like Qormi, Mqabba and Senglea are among the strongest, but every game has its own story and every team in the division will be competitive.โ
