The giant moray eel is a nocturnal reef hunter that can grow up to 1 meter long and over 30 kilos in weight. This moray hunts primarily by smell and is known to cooperatively hunt fish and crustaceans with other species, such as the bluefin trevally. Their display of teeth and opening of their jaws is primarily to move water over their gills. You can find these eels hiding in the reefs of Saipan or hunting during a night dive. 📸:
