The aim of the endurance race discipline is to complete the race distance with an averag
e speed of 12 to14 km/h. Once this distance has been completed the horses are awaited by professional vetrenarians who measure the cardiac capacity after 30 minutes of rest, limiting the horse to 64 beats per minute. Any horses above this limit may be subject to disqualification. The two horses excelled in both parameters, placing them amongst the top horses of 5 years age in France. This is partially due to an explicit and thurough training of horses and their jockeys, led by team magager David Guedj, allowing these individuals to master any distance without breaking a sweat.
